Motorradtour-Update aus Osttibet 🏍️⛰️

Wir sind jetzt seit 10 Tagen auf unserer Osttibet-Expedition unterwegs und haben gerade das Mount Everest Base Camp erreicht 🏔️ – bei strahlend blauem Himmel und einer Aussicht, die uns den Atem geraubt hat. Besser hätte das Wetter nicht sein können! 🌞

Die Stimmung ist top, die Straßen sind geschmeidig und kurvig, die Landschaften einfach atemberaubend – und jeden Tag gibt’s neue Wow-Momente. Die herzliche Gastfreundschaft der Einheimischen und das leckere traditionelle Essen machen diese Reise bisher unvergesslich. 🙌

Jetzt geht’s auf die letzte Etappe Richtung Lhasa – aber es wartet noch so viel Magie auf uns: von kulturellen Schätzen in alten Dörfern bis zu den glitzernden Wassern des Yamdrok-Sees. Diese Tour ist noch lange nicht vorbei – und wird immer besser!

East Tibet Motorcycle Tour Update 🏍️⛰️

We’re 10 days into our East Tibet expedition and just reached Mount Everest Base Camp 🏔️ – under crystal-clear skies and with views that took our breath away. We couldn’t have asked for better weather! 🌞

Spirits are high, roads are smooth and curvy, landscapes are beyond stunning, and every day brings new moments of awe and excitement. The local warmth and hospitality, paired with delicious traditional food, have also made this journey unforgettable so far. 🙌

Now, we’re on the final stretch to Lhasa, but there’s still plenty of magic ahead – from cultural gems tucked into ancient towns to the sparkling waters of Yamdrok Lake. This ride is far from over, and it just keeps getting better!

🇻🇳 Vietnam Tour – Letzte Kurven, letzte Eindrücke
(English below)

Was für zwei Wochen! Nach dem Ha Giang Loop ist noch lange nicht Schluss. Wir fahren weiter Richtung Osten – bis zum Ban Gioc Wasserfall an der chinesischen Grenze. Laut, kraftvoll, beeindruckend – Naturkino vom Feinsten.

Unterwegs sehen wir den God’s Eye Mountain, ein gewaltiger Felsen mit einem natürlichen Loch im Gipfel. Sieht aus, als würde da oben jemand zuschauen.

In den letzten Tagen der Tour fahren wir mit dem Boot wir über den Ba Be Lake, sind umgeben von Karstfelsen. Ein perfekter Moment zum Durchatmen nach all den Kilometern.
Eines der Highlights unterwegs: Mittagessen in einer Höhle. Still, angenehm kühl, ziemlich besonders.

Zurück in Hanoi feiern wir den Abschluss mit Pizza und Drinks in der legendären Train Street, während der Zug direkt an uns vorbeirollt.

Was bleibt? Staub, Kurven, Reiswein, viel Gelächter – und Erinnerungen, die bleiben.

🇬🇧 Vietnam Tour – Final Bends, Final Impressions

What a ride! After conquering the Ha Giang Loop, we kept heading east – first stop: the roaring Ban Gioc Waterfall on the Chinese border. Pure power, pure beauty.

Next: God’s Eye Mountain, a massive rock with a natural hole near the top. Feels like someone’s watching from above.

Then we slow it down: drifting across Ba Be Lake by boat, surrounded by jungle cliffs and quiet. A perfect breather after all the riding.
One of the best moments was a lunch stop inside a cave. Cool, calm, unforgettable.

Back in Hanoi, we wrap it all up with pizza and drinks in the iconic Train Street, while a train rolls past just meters away.

What’s left? Dust, curves, rice wine, laughter and memories that stick.
Huge thanks to the crew and every rider for the good vibes, the teamwork, and the ride of a lifetime.

🗻 Osttibet Tour Update – Kurven, Gipfel und klare Höhenluft

Motorradträume werden wahr! Die Tage 4 bis 6 unserer Osttibet-Tour führen uns über einige der spektakulärsten Straßen, die das Hochland zu bieten hat. Endlose Kurven, perfekter Asphalt und ein Panorama, das selbst erfahrenen Fahrern den Atem raubt.

Wir durchqueren tiefe Schluchten und erklimmen Pässe, die uns auf über 5.000 m bringen. Der Himmel strahlt in sattem Blau, während schneebedeckte Gipfel wie der Kawa Karpo in der Ferne glänzen. Jede Kurve eröffnet neue, atemberaubende Ausblicke.

Die Straßen sind wie gemacht für unsere Maschinen – mal geschmeidig, mal herausfordernd, aber immer ein Genuss. Die Gruppe ist im Flow, das Grinsen unter den Helmen ist nicht zu übersehen. Abends lassen wir die Tage bei traditionellen Gerichten und Bier ausklingen.

🗻 Go East Young Man Tour Update – Curves, Peaks, and Crisp Mountain Air

Motorcycle dreams come true! Days 4 to 6 of our East Tibet tour take us along some of the most spectacular roads the highlands have to offer. Endless curves, perfect tarmac, and panoramas that leave even seasoned riders breathless.

We traverse deep gorges and ascend passes that bring us over 5,000 m. The sky shines in deep blue, while snow-capped peaks like Kawa Karpo gleam in the distance. Every bend reveals new, breathtaking vistas.

The roads are tailor-made for our bikes – sometimes smooth, sometimes challenging, but always a pleasure. The group is in the flow, and the grins beneath the helmets are unmistakable. In the evenings, we unwind with traditional dishes and beer.

🗻 Osttibet Tour – Der Start ins Höhenabenteuer

Los geht’s! Seit dem 12. April sind wir unterwegs durch das Osttibet. Schon die ersten Tage lassen keinen Zweifel: Diese Tour wird unvergesslich.

Unser Startpunkt: Shangri-La – ein Ort wie aus einer anderen Welt. Alte Gebetshallen, bunt flatternde Gebetsfahnen, riesige Gebetsmühlen und kühle Höhenluft begrüßen uns auf über 3.000 m. Die Motoren schnurren, die Gruppe ist voller Vorfreude.

Bevor wir auf unsere Bikes steigen, gibt es noch einen ganz besonderen Moment: der Geburtstag eines Mitreisenden. Beim gemeinsamen Essen gibt es nicht nur traditionelle Gerichte und einen Kuchen zu essen, sondern auch ein überraschendes, traditionell tibetisches Lied zu gegebenen Anlass.

Dann heißt es: Raus aus der Stadt – rein ins Abenteuer. Unser Ziel: ein abgelegenes tibetisches Homestay, wo wir herzlich empfangen und mit traditionellen Gerichten verwöhnt werden. Und das ist erst der Anfang. Die Berge warten.

🗻 Go East Young Man – Into the Heights

We’re off! Since April 12th, we’ve been riding through Eastern Tibet – and the first few days already make one thing clear: this tour will be unforgettable.

Our starting point: Shangri-La – a place that feels like another world. Ancient prayer halls, brightly fluttering prayer flags, giant prayer wheels, and crisp mountain air welcome us at over 3,000 meters altitude. The engines are humming, and the group is full of anticipation. 🏍️

Before we even get on the bikes, there's a special moment: one of our fellow riders is celebrating their birthday. During a shared meal, we enjoy not only traditional dishes and birthday cake, but also a surprise – a traditional Tibetan song sung by our hosts for the occasion.

Then it’s time: out of the city, and into the adventure. Our destination: a remote Tibetan homestay, where we’re welcomed with open arms and treated to authentic local cuisine.
And this is only the beginning. The mountains are waiting.

🇻🇳 Nordvietnam Tour Update
(English below)

Unsere Nordvietnam-Tour geht weiter – und jeder Tag bringt neue Highlights! Nach einer eindrucksvollen Fahrt erreichen wir Sapa, eine charmante Bergstadt auf etwa 1500 bis 2000 Metern Höhe, bekannt für ihre Reisterrassen, kühle Bergluft und die farbenfrohe Kultur der Bergvölker.

Von dort geht es hinein in das Herzstück dieser Tour: den legendären Ha Giang Loop. Endlose Kurven, weite Panoramen und größtenteils hervorragender Asphalt lassen jedes Bikerherz höherschlagen. Mit breitem Grinsen fahren wir durch die grünen Hügel Nordvietnams – der Fahrspaß kommt hier definitiv nicht zu kurz.

Auch kulturell erleben wir Vietnam hautnah: Bei einer traditionellen Tanzaufführung und dem Besuch einer Weberei tauchen wir tief in die Lebensweise der lokalen Bevölkerung ein. Abends genießen wir vietnamesischen Hotpot, begleitet von Reiswein, Apfelwein und natürlich dem vietnamesischen Trinkspruch: „Mot, Hai, Ba, Yo!“ – 1, 2, 3, Prost!“

Our Northern Vietnam tour keeps rolling – and every day brings new highlights! We arrive in Sapa, a charming mountain town at 1500 to 2000 meters elevation, known for its rice terraces, cool air, and vibrant hill tribe culture.

From there, we dive straight into the heart of this journey: the legendary Ha Giang Loop. Endless curves, sweeping views, and mostly smooth asphalt make it a true rider’s paradise. With big smiles, we cruise through the green hills of Northern Vietnam – pure riding joy!

Culture isn’t left behind: a traditional dance performance and a visit to a local weaving workshop give us deep insights into local life. In the evening, we gather around steaming Vietnamese hotpot, raise our glasses of rice wine and apple wine, and toast with the words: “Mot, Hai, Ba, Yo!” – 1, 2, 3, cheers!”

🇳🇵 Road to Mustang – Ein episches Finale!

Die letzten Kilometer brechen an: Entlang des Siddharta Highways genießen wir noch einmal die atemberaubende Aussicht auf die schneebedeckten Gipfel – ein würdiger Abschied von der Bergwelt.

Dann wird’s tropisch: Der Chitwan Nationalpark ruft! Doch bevor wir eintauchen, wartet noch ein Highlight – eine der längsten Seilbrücken der Welt. Mit unseren Bikes über das schwankende Stahlkonstrukt zu fahren, sorgt für echten Nervenkitzel! Danach lassen wir uns ein wohlverdientes Turborg-Bier schmecken. 🍻

In Chitwan erleben wir eine Safari der Extraklasse: Krokodile, Nashörner und sogar ein seltener Bär kreuzen unseren Weg – was für ein Abschluss! Nach zwei Wochen voller Abenteuer rollen wir schließlich zurück nach Kathmandu, um die Tour gebührend ausklingen zu lassen.

The final stretch is here! Riding along the Siddharta Highway, we soak up the last stunning views of the snow-capped mountains – a perfect farewell to these giants.

Then, the scenery shifts: Chitwan National Park awaits! But first, an adrenaline kick – one of the longest suspension bridges in the world. Riding across the swaying steel structure is pure adventure! A well-earned Turborg beer follows. 🍻

Chitwan delivers an unforgettable wildlife experience: Crocodiles, rhinos, and even a rare bear cross our path. What a way to end this incredible journey! After two weeks of riding, we roll back into Kathmandu for a final celebration.

Seit dem Start in Kathmandu am 16.03. ist unsere Road to Mustang-Gruppe voll im Flow – und die ersten Tage liefern bereits alles, was das Biker-Herz höher schlagen lässt.

Die kurvigen Straßen schlängeln sich durch grüne Täler und bieten immer wieder spektakuläre Ausblicke auf die schneebedeckten Gipfel des Himalayas – ein Anblick, der selbst erfahrene Fahrer innehalten lässt. Und als die Etappe am Begnas See endet, gibt es nur eine logische Entscheidung: Abkühlung im drittgrößten See Nepals – eine willkommene Pause nach den ersten Kilometern auf den Royal Enfields.

Kulinarisch hat Nepal auch einiges zu bieten: Traditionelles Thali, serviert mit Linsen, Reis, Curry und frischem Gemüse, gibt die perfekte Energie für die nächsten Etappen. Und die Straßen? Ein Traum für echte Biker! Enge Kehren, endlose Kurven und immer wieder die bunten buddhistischen Gebetsfahnen, die am Straßenrand im Wind flattern – hier fühlt sich jede Fahrt wie ein kleines Ritual an.

🇳🇵 Road to Mustang – Curves, Peaks & the Taste of Nepal

The adventure is on! 🏍️ Since kicking off in Kathmandu on March 16th, our Road to Mustang group has been riding high – and the first few days have already delivered everything a biker’s heart desires.

Winding roads twist through lush valleys, offering breathtaking views of the snow-capped Himalayas – a sight that makes even seasoned riders pause in awe. And when the day ends at Begnas Lake, there’s only one thing to do: cool off in Nepal’s third-largest lake – the perfect break after our first days on the bikes.

Nepal’s cuisine doesn’t disappoint either. A hearty serving of traditional Thali – lentils, rice, curry, and fresh vegetables – fuels us for the miles ahead. And the roads? A biker’s dream! Tight bends, endless curves, and the iconic Buddhist prayer flags fluttering in the breeze along the way – every ride feels like a ritual in itself.

The first kilometers have been epic – and with each curve, the excitement for what lies ahead grows stronger. Mustang, here we come! 🚀

Our Story

Driven by our passion for riding and the desire to explore exotic India, we founded Classic Bike Adventure in Goa in February 1989. After a short startup phase in southern India, we launched our first tours in the Indian Himalayas – in Himachal Pradesh, and shortly thereafter in Ladakh, the majestic highlight of the Roof of the World. Nepal soon followed, then Tibet, Bhutan and the newly created Himalayan state of Uttarakhand. Classic Bike Adventure was one of the first motorcycle tour operators in India – and with its professional travel organization, it not only broke new ground as a pioneer, it also set standards. In the late nineties, we added other Asian countries to the Classic Bike Adventure travel program, experiencing unforgettable adventures on the road on tours through Tibet, Myanmar, Bhutan, Thailand, Sri Lanka, Laos and Vietnam. Over the past 30 years, more than 5,000 enthusiastic riders have been on more than 600 Classic Bike Adventure tours, making us one of the largest operators of guided motorcycle tours in Asia. The world, and with it Asia, has changed a lot since we set out to discover India in the wild 1980s. Our routes have evolved over time as we strive to keep them up to date and constantly adapt them to local conditions and our own high standards. If there’s no other way, we’d rather put a tour on hold for a while – for example until massive road construction projects have been completed – and not resume until the route is once again truly a joy to ride. Operating a tour in chaotic conditions just because there’s a market for it won’t make us – or you – happy. Our fleet has changed as well: in addition to our 35 classic Royal Enfield Bullets that we mainly ride in India, Nepal and Bhutan, relying on them in rugged mountains, deserts, forests, steppes, valleys, gorges and crossing the world’s highest passes, we also deploy enduros such as the BMW GS series and other makes, depending on the country and the specific challenges of the tour. The one thing that has always stayed the same over the years is our urge to travel: our passion for discovery, adventure, spectacular landscapes, and meeting new people and experiencing their cultures and customs. And all this, of course, while meeting our strict criteria for safety, service, good overnight accommodations, excellent routes, technically flawless motorcycles and experienced guides.
