Hello Folks! I am Naveen from Deep In The Himalayas. We are looking for volunteers for our homestay in Tolgaon, a village in the lap of the Himalayas. This is an opportunity for you to experience the genuine Himalayan Village Life and an opportunity for the villagers to learn from you.
What Can You Help With?
Note: You can help with any or all of the tasks mentioned below.
1. Help with Natural Farming (Agriculture)
2. Helping school kids with learning new things like languages, skills etc.
3. Imparting any skill of your choice to the villagers, that can help them support themselves.
4. Managing the homestay, coming up with design ideas, managing bookings, interacting with guests
5. Teaching Yoga
6. Anything else that we have missed but you think can be done for the betterment of the village people.

We charge a minimal amount of Rs. 300 (INR) per Day for this opportunity, to help the villagers sustain your meals and accommodation.

Tolgaon is a remote village in the Garhwal district Rudraprayag. What was a small yet thriving community of over 50 people has currently decreased to only 12 inhabitants. In an attempt to preserve and repopulate the village we have started running a village tour and some homestays. It is a chance to revive the local community who solely rely on farm work for their survival, thereby reducing the need to leave their homes in search of a more sustainable way of life.
