📿 Upper Mustang Journey | Days 10–12 - The Final Days

As the final leg of the journey began, the group left the wild, sacred landscapes of Upper Mustang and flew back to the bustle of Kathmandu — carrying with them not only memories, but a quiet inner shift that’s hard to put into words.

Their next steps took them to Bhaktapur, the “City of Devotees.” Once the capital of Nepal, its cobbled streets, ancient temples, and rich Newari culture offered a deep sense of history and devotion still alive in daily life. It was a softer, grounded contrast to the raw energy of the Himalayas.

From there, the group visited Changunarayan, Nepal’s oldest Hindu temple, perched on a peaceful hilltop. Surrounded by forest and silence, the ancient carvings and sacred stories held space for reflection — a place where time seemed to pause.

In Nagarkot, they woke before dawn to witness one of the journey’s most breathtaking moments: the sunrise stretching across the Himalayan range. At over 2,000 metres, the view was expansive and humbling — a reminder of the vastness they had traveled through, both outside and within.

On the final day, they celebrated Narasimha Chaturdashi, together with some local devotees from Nepal. To be able to celebrate with abhishekam and yagna for Simhachalam Narasimha, who accompanied the group from the start, made this moment feel especially meaningful. It was the sweetest ending to the trip.

This journey may have ended, but something lasting has been set in motion.
On each journey like this, it’s as if you pass through a curtain of light — and all the batteries inside of you get recharged.

Upper Mustang Journey: Days 7–9
Exploring Caves, Climbing Monasteries, and New Perspectives

The last few days in Upper Mustang were packed with powerful sights and quiet moments that will stick with everyone for a long time.

One of the highlights was the visit to the Sky Caves — thousands of man-made caves carved high into the cliffs of the Kali Gandaki Valley. Some are over 2,000 years old. The group explored a set of multi-level caves that were once used by monks. It was humbling to see how dedicated the monks were in even such extreme conditions.

At a nearby 7th-century monastery, Swamini led a short meditation, inviting everyone to reflect inward. She spoke of the idea of a guiding force that lives deep within — a quiet but powerful reminder that spiritual practice isn’t always grand, but deeply personal.

The group then visited Namgyal Gompa, also known as a Sisa Monastery. The interior was filled with rows of small Buddha statues, all linked by a single thread — symbolizing connection and continuity. Upstairs was something unexpected: statues made entirely of compressed grass. No paint, no metal — just natural material that still somehow held presence and care. Even those less familiar with Buddhist traditions were struck by the calm and energy of the space.

From there, the descent began. Traveling through Jomsom, the group passed through the deepest gorge in the world, carved by the mighty Kali Gandaki River. Towering above were Dhaulagiri and Annapurna, two of the tallest peaks in the Himalayas. Along the banks of the river, a deeply special moment unfolded: a rare abhishekam was performed on Simhachalam Narasimhadev, right in the sacred waters of the Gandaki. This river, home to the revered Shaligram stones, is one of the most sacred in Hinduism. To witness and take part in such a ritual here — surrounded by mountains and centuries of tradition — was something truly unforgettable.

The final monastery stop came at Ghar Gompa, one of the oldest in the region. Its quiet halls and mountain views brought a natural sense of closure to the highland part of the trip.

Days 4–6 | Muktinath & Upper Mustang 🕉🏔🌿

The past few days took the group deeper into the Himalayan landscape, where altitude, cold air, and centuries-old stories shaped a unique kind of experience.

They began at Galeshwar Dham, a quiet temple at the meeting of two rivers, said to be the gateway to Muktinath. Nearby, they visited the cave of Jada Bharata, whose story — told over three lifetimes — offered a deep reflection on how attachment can follow us, even across births. Swamini Abhirami shared this narrative in parts, anchoring it with teachings from the Gita and moments from her own journey with Guruji.

At Muktinath, they entered a very different energy. Known as Mukti Kshetra (the place of liberation), the group joined locals and pilgrims to bathe in the freezing 108 water spouts — each one said to wash something deeper than just the body. The cold was sharp, but the sense of doing it together added a layer of warmth.

Later, they visited an absolutely unique and sacred place just outside Muktinath called Vishnu Chula. Discovered by a saint only eight years ago, the site left a deep impression. It’s said that the burning love and longing of the Lord for His devotee manifested here — a quiet but potent reminder of the emotional depth within the divine play. The place itself felt raw and intimate, and its unexpectedness made it even more powerful.

From there, they moved into Upper Mustang, a restricted region near the Tibetan border. The landscape changed completely — dry, wide valleys and fortress-like villages. In Lo Manthang, they visited a 700-year-old Buddhist temple where a resident monk gave them insight into the texts still chanted there today, and showed them a sacred, rarely-read book of prophecies.

✨ Journey Through the Sacred Heart of Nepal – Days 1 to 3 ✨

The group’s journey began in the mystical Kathmandu Valley, where ancient temples and legends breathe life into the land. Drawn together from different corners of the world, they came not just to witness Nepal’s beauty—but to connect with its deeper spirit.

Their first steps led them to Dakshinkali, where the powerful form of the Goddess is honored through centuries-old ritual. As rain fell gently, many felt something shift—an internal stirring, a quiet sense of being watched over. Stories of Sati, of sacrifice and strength, grounded the group in reverence as they offered flowers and received blessings from the local priest.

Later that day, they stumbled upon a small, hidden shrine where Tara and Ganesha are said to be emerging naturally from stone—a miracle in slow motion. Locals believe the figures are still forming. The group stood in hushed awe, each person touched in their own way by this living mystery.

At the Gorakhnath Cave, the silence was almost tangible. One by one, they entered the narrow space where the great yogi is said to have meditated for years. For some, the cave brought tears. For others, it felt like stepping into another dimension. Outside, chants and candlelight carried the group into stillness.

The path led them next to Swayambhunath, the timeless stupa that rises above Kathmandu like a crown. As prayer wheels spun and mantras filled the air, the group heard the legend of a humble chicken-keeper who built the site using only what he could claim with a stretched buffalo hide. The tale reminded them of faith, humility, and how small efforts can create lasting change.

In Budhanilkantha, Lord Narayana rested peacefully in the water. His calm expression and cosmic posture invited a quietude that washed over the group. As rain gently returned, they stood together in silence—unified in stillness.

Jaipur: A Spiritual City Beyond the Palaces

When people think of Jaipur, they usually picture grand forts, ornate palaces, and royal history. And that’s true — Jaipur is rich with architectural beauty and cultural legacy. But for those on a spiritual path, the city offers another kind of wealth, quieter but just as profound.

Jaipur has long been a center for devotion and spiritual practice. The Govind Dev Ji and Radha Gopinath temples are not just beautiful—they are alive with centuries of worship, carrying deep significance for Vaishnavas around the world. These are places where devotion is not a ritual, but a way of life.

Just outside the city, Galtaji feels like a hidden world. Surrounded by the Aravalli hills, it’s not only visually stunning but spiritually charged. It’s said that sages like Goswami Tulsidas lived and meditated here. The temple complex is also home to the miraculous deity that combines Rama and Krishna in one form—a deeply symbolic and rare expression of the divine.

And then there’s the story of Meerabai, the saint-poet, who was said to have been formally wed to Sri Krishna in Jaipur—a testament to the city’s long history of intimate, personal devotion.

So while Jaipur dazzles most with its palaces and past, there’s another Jaipur waiting to be experienced—one of saints, sadhus, and sacred spaces. A place where the grandeur isn’t just in the buildings, but in the bhakti that has filled them for centuries.
