Khan Al-Nas on the Karbala road is one of the historic caravanserais built during the Ottoman era, serving as a rest stop for travelers and caravans between Karbala and Najaf. It is one of three notable khans on this route, alongside Khan Al-Rubu’ (Khan Al-Nakhila) and Khan Al-Musalla. These khans were strategically placed to provide shelter, food, and safety for pilgrims and merchants traveling this important religious and trade route. Our Slovak group of 19 guests visited Iraq for 10 days.
Arrival date: April 17, 2025 via Baghdad airport

The program included visits and exploration of:

• The city of Nineveh and old Mosul
• Hatra
• Karbala, Najaf, and Kufa
• Uruk and Ur
• The marshland in southern Iraq including traditional lunch with the marsh inhabitants at local guesthouse.
