In Iceland we invite you to join us for a grand adventure of first descents, skiing all the way down to the ocean. Arctic Heli Skiing is operated by Bergmenn Mountain Guides on the Troll Peninsula in Northern Iceland. After operating ski touring and ski mountaineering trips on the Troll Peninsula for the past 20 years we have now extended our program to Heli Skiing. The potential for world class d

own hill skiing is mind blowing with thousands of slopes and peaks waiting for their first descent with vertical descents of up to 1500m or almost 5000ft. Our vast terrain covers more than 4000 square kilometers, or 1500 square miles of breathtaking Arctic mountains with terrain that suits every skiers ability be it extreme couloirs or wide open glaciers. Our position just below the Arctic Circle with the mountains rising straight out of the sea allows for a skiing experience of a lifetime, skiing all the way down to the ocean basking in the rays of the Midnight Sun. This can give the concept of night skiing a whole new meaning. Check out our Media section for great photos, videos and articles on skiing in Iceland. Our season starts late March but lasts with generally excellent corn skiing and the occasional powder dump well into June. The fact that the Troll Peninsula is surrounded by the Arctic Ocean makes for incredible opportunities for skiing right down to the ocean on stable coastal snowpack but also adds the excitement of Arctic weather and conditions. Throw in a mix of volcanic activity, hot springs, lava fields and a unique culture and you will find that Iceland is a true adventure skiing destination. The fact that Iceland is only a few hours flight away from all major cities on both sides of the Atlantic gives you an opportunity for a quick heli ski get away with no jet lag and the minimum of precious days off.

Imagine standing on a summit high above the Troll Peninsula, looking out over a sea of clouds filling the valleys below.

The midnight sun hangs low on the horizon, painting the sky in shades of orange and pink. The snow is smooth, the visibility stretches for miles, and the only thing left to do is point your skis downhill and enjoy the ride.

A few thousand vertical feet later, you’re high-fiving your mates at the bottom before loading back into the helicopter and doing it all over again.

If that sounds like your kind of adventure, spring heli-skiing in Iceland deserves a spot near the top of your list.

Greenland is the kind of place that keeps making you question whether what you’re seeing is real.

One run might take you down a massive glacier with views stretching for miles. The next finishes right beside a fjord filled with icebergs drifting through crystal-clear water.

Then, instead of heading back to the lodge, you stop for lunch on the shoreline. Icebergs floating in front of you. The sound of ancient ice cracking somewhere in the distance…

It’s this contrast that makes heli-skiing in Greenland so special. Huge alpine terrain, endless glaciers, remote fjords, and landscapes that feel untouched by time.

Sunny spring day on the Troll Peninsula. Endless runs, smooth spring snow, and views so good they almost make it hard to watch where you’re going.

Moments like this are only one part of what makes heli-skiing in Greenland so unique.

Remote terrain, wild fjords, huge glacial landscapes, and the kind of lines you don’t exactly find on a normal ski trip.

Like this one, where we even found an ice cave we could ski through. 😁

Our 2027 bookings are now open.

Late spring in Iceland is a strange and beautiful time to ski.

Down in the valleys, the grass is already turning green. Up high, there’s still enough snow to land on a summit, and drop into long spring lines with the ocean in the distance.

That contrast is a big part of what makes heli-skiing here feel so different.

You’re not just skiing good snow. You’re skiing at that point where winter and summer overlap, with green fjords below you, snow-covered peaks above you, and daylight that seems to go on forever.

By late May and June, the sun barely sets, which means long days, soft spring turns, and a kind of mountain light that’s hard to explain until you’ve seen it yourself.

Our lodge sits deep in Iceland’s Troll Peninsula, surrounded by peaks in every direction.

During breakfast, you can look out toward the mountains and see the kind of lines you might be skiing later that day.

The location isn’t just beautiful, it’s practical. Short flight times mean less time commuting and more time skiing.

And when the day is done, it’s all about slowing down.
Home-cooked meals, a hot tub overlooking the mountains, a sauna, and a comfortable room waiting for you before doing it all again the next morning.

Because the best heli-ski trips aren’t only about the skiing. They’re about where the day begins and ends.
