A little bit about Suratthani trip on 20th January, 2018.
The first day of the trip, we planned to visit Cheow Lan Lake or Rajjaprabha Dam ReservoirRajjaprabha Dam Reservoir.
I searched a lot of info on internet and sent Kari many links of the resorts in the dam but I made a decision to book this lovely bungalow at the last minute because the price seems to be reasonable. (For 2 persons, we paid 5,000THB for 1night, 3meals, boat and package of actives: trekking to Pakarang Cave (Coral Cave), visiting Khao Sam Kler and kayaking. The price is not include the national park fee - 500THB per person for foreigner.) I booked by transfer deposit 2,500THB to the bank account that the staff of the resort sent me via message.
We arrived Phutawan office around 10A.M., filled a document for hotel registration, paid for the half amount and waited for other groups until 10.45 A.M., the staff let us get on a mini-bus to Chew lan peir and get into a boat on 11A.M.
There were 15 passengers in the boat and we were heading to the same destination, Phutawan resort. Kari felt uncomfortable because he sat on the side of the boat but it was good that our resort is not so far away.
It took time around 1 hours, we arrived the resort. It looks better than the photos on the website. I checked my mobile phone and I found there is no signal. lol It seems good.
"No connection, We can spend our slow life here, there are you and me." 😘
The room:
Our looks new and clean. The special thing of bungalow here, we can open the front door and jump into the water easily.
(We got a glass bungalow becuase the capsule rooms were full booked. But after I arrived I feel that I was so lucky because we can see the view through the glass door. And the location is very good, we can sunset from the terrace in front of the bungalow and the day time the staff told me it's less hot compare with the capsule. And the price is lower.
The food:
Lunch and dinner were very good if you like trying local food and like spicy taste. For Kari and me I like the food here, they were not so spicy, fresh, and clean.
Drink, there are coffee, chocolate corner that we can drink anytime since 6A.M. until 5.P.M.
Breakfast was ok. There were boiled rice with pork, fried rice, fried noodle, bread and hot drink; coffee, chocolate.
I like the the resort made table for each groups of customer and offer quality food that we can ask for more.
The activities:
Very good!!!!! I like all activities: trekking, sight-seeing, kayaking, swimming, jumping into the water from our terrace.
Recommendation
- Limit electricity, we can use it since 6P.M. to 6A.M. so don't forget to recharge your electronic staffs before you come here.
- Shared bathrooms and toilets andpretty far from the glass bungalow. If you feel it is very uncomfortable for you, you should know it before you booked.
- While you travel with the boat, the back side is very close to the boat engine so it's very bad smell of gasoline and pretty noisy. The front is better position to sit.
- While you go out to trek to Pakarang cave, we recommend to wear trekking shoes or sneakers. and don't forget your camera. 😉
