Here they are: the fifth & sixth groups, the final Hidden Trails crews of the season! 🥳🥳

The Highlands didn’t exactly roll out a red carpet for them… instead, they got slammed with the wildest weather of the whole summer. We’re talking relentless rain and hurricane-force winds, the kind that’ll make you rethink what ‘bad weather’ even means.
But instead of bailing, these crews dug in and made it work. No easy endings here — just a season finale written in mud, wind, and grit.

The fourth Hidden Trails crew stormed back into Reykjavík yesterday! Mud still on their boots, sand still in their ears, wind still in their hair.

They’ve been off the grid for 12 days, chasing wild trails where the tourists don’t go, and came back grinning like outlaws who just pulled off the perfect heist. Another mission accomplished! 💪💪💪

How to transport a 12 people group to one of the most remote locations in the world: Baffin Island 🐻‍❄️🏔️

1️⃣ Book a flight from Iqaluit to Qikiqtarjuaq. Pray it doesn’t turn around halfway (spoiler: it will).
2️⃣ Bond deeply with airline staff over endless delays, cancellations & creative excuses.
3️⃣ Charter a tiny plane to fly twice half the group + a mysterious bucket of fuel you shipped weeks ago via cargo airline. Repeat (so you’ll have everyone in the same place).
4️⃣ Finish strong: jump on a reinforced speedboat with local legends and smash through Arctic waters to your final nowhere.

🧊🌬️ Because why travel easy… when you can do it the Arctic way?

🌋 Volcanic eruption on Reykjanes Peninsula – July 16th, 2025 🌋

A volcanic eruption began at 3:54 AM this morning on the Sundhnúkur fissure, north of Grindavík, following seismic activity that started around midnight.
✅ In an abundance of caution, the town of Grindavík and the Blue Lagoon were safely evacuated.

✈️ Air traffic to and from Iceland is completely unaffected, and all services and attractions across the rest of the country remain open and operating as usual.

🌍 The eruption is highly localized, and there’s currently no threat to infrastructure or nearby towns.

Icelandic authorities and local communities are very experienced in handling such events, with some of the world's most effective volcanic preparedness measures in place.

⚠️ For travelers near the area:
Please keep an eye on air quality updates, as there can be pollution close to the eruption site.

Iceland remains open, safe, and ready to welcome visitors! 🇮🇸🧳✨

Baffin Island, wild & rough.
There’s no other way to describe it.

Cancelled flights turned into chartering tiny planes for twelve people, food and gas. Dropped at the trail by a small boat, camped every night fighting strong winds, food stored far from tents to avoid polar bears.

Crossed the Arctic Circle on foot and slept right on it. Arctic wolf tracks, caribou antlers, waist-deep river crossings roped together, and views over Thor, Odin & Breidablik Peaks.

Met nobody but two climbers heading for Loki Peak.
One wild place. One wild team.

Just got back from what might be our most intense & challenging expedition so far: Baffin Island. A place so remote it feels like the edge of the world — endless fjords, towering granite walls, and raw Arctic wilderness that truly humbles you.

An expedition we won’t forget anytime soon 🐻‍❄️🥾🏔️
