☀️ Ferragosto in Bologna: the city is yours
Staying in Bologna this August?
Don’t worry — the city doesn’t close for Ferragosto. It simply changes rhythm. ❤️
August 15th is one of Italy’s most beloved summer holidays, and it’s a wonderful day to experience Bologna at a slower pace.
🌿 Start in the green
Spend the afternoon at Giardini Margherita and stop by Le Serre, where Ferragosto celebrations begin in the early evening.
🎨 Discover Bologna’s museums
Several museums and cultural sites remain open on Ferragosto — a perfect (and cool!) way to discover the city’s art, history and hidden treasures.
🍝 Take your time
Have a long lunch, wander beneath Bologna’s UNESCO porticoes and enjoy streets that are unusually quiet for a Saturday.
🌄 Escape to the hills
As the temperature drops, head towards the Bolognese hills for sunset. At Fienile Fluò, SPAZIO FRANCO / Miscele D’Aria Factory starts at 9:30 pm: an immersive sound experience dedicated to Franco Battiato.
🎬 Cinema under the stars
Or end Ferragosto with an outdoor movie at Arena Tivoli — one of those simple Italian summer rituals we love.
And if you feel like doing absolutely nothing?
That’s very Ferragosto too. 😎
Enjoy Bologna slowly. Eat well, walk less, stay out late.
You’re on holiday, after all.
Happy Ferragosto from UBologna ❤️unique unforgettable experience for you
