this region is a true dream destination. a visit to alberobello, the town of the trulli, is a must, as well as to the fjord-like bay of cala porto with its steep limestone cliffs and whitewashed houses. also not to be missed is a stroll along bari’s strada delle orecchiette, where locals handcraft the typical orecchiette pasta. in the evening, wander through the narrow alleys of the towns and enjoy apulian cheese specialties, olives, and crispy bread on a terrace with a view.
