Looking for a quieter side of Florence? Just a few kilometres from the city centre, the Certosa del Galluzzo offers a journey through centuries of art, history and monastic life. Surrounded by the Tuscan hills, this remarkable monastery is home to Renaissance masterpieces, peaceful cloisters and panoramic views, making it one of the area's most fascinating hidden gems. 🍃

The Certosa can only be visited on a guided tour (around one hour, with English tours available). During July and August, tours run Saturdays at 10:00, 11:00, 16:00 and 17:00, and Sundays at 16:00 and 17:00. For the rest of the year, tours are available Tuesday to Saturday at 10:00, 11:00, 15:00 and 16:00 (plus 17:00 from 1 April to 31 October) and Sundays at 15:00 and 16:00 (plus 17:00 from 1 April to 31 October). No reservation is needed for up to five visitors. Simply arrive a few minutes before your preferred tour. Admission is €8.
