If you’re into hearty French food and fabulous wine, then you’re going to love Beaune, France.

Situated in the heart of Burgundy’s Côte d’Or, Beaune is the perfect base for exploring some of the world’s most prestigious vineyards and wine villages.

But when you’re not out wine tasting, this ridiculously charming town has plenty more to offer…

Inside Beaune’s medieval ramparts, you’ll find the spectacular Hôtel-Dieu (Hospices de Beaune), a bustling Saturday market worth planning your entire trip around, centuries-old wine cellars, quaint town squares, mustard shops, and the coziest Burgundian bistros.

I’ve been to Beaune twice now. After my recent trip – which involved cellar tours, e-biking through the vineyards along the Route des Grands Crus, long lunches, mustard-tasting, lots of Époisses cheese (merci beaucoup!), and some of the most delicious wines I’ve ever tasted – Beaune has officially become my favorite town in France.

You can’t travel around New Zealand’s South Island and not visit Milford Sound.

Located in Fiordland National Park, this stunning landscape (which is actually a fjord) features soaring vertical cliffs, snow-capped mountains, lush rainforest, native fauna, deep-blue water, and countless waterfalls.

Milford Sound is one of the most spectacular destinations in New Zealand, but figuring out how to get there can be surprisingly complicated. Not to mention, every year it gets busier and busier.

So I mean it when I say: how you choose to visit will make or break your experience. Should you drive from Queenstown? Take a bus tour? Board a cruise? Fly over Fiordland in a tiny plane? Or a helicopter? Spend the night on the fjord itself?

Being married to a Queenstown local and all, I’ve been to Milford Sound a few times. So I have some strong recommendations on the best ways to experience Milford Sound – and plenty of must-know tips to share!

When you visit Alberobello, in the Puglia region of Italy, you’ll be transported straight into the pages of a medieval fantasy novel.
