Sticking to Italian tradition today, "Giovedi Gnocchi," - as Thursday is gnocchi day- which for us means preparing " "Gnocchi alla Sorrentina, " the tradition gnocchi (homemade potato dumplings) with tomato sauce, fresh mozzarella, grated Parmigiano , and basil leaves from the Sorrento Pen*sola !! So delish! -

Taste here. There. But still convinced one of the best calzones in Naples ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡น is made by Master Pizzaiolo Vincenzo Esposito !! Here's the calzone "Munaciello" , stuffed with provola affumicata, ricotta, ciccioli, antico pomodori di Napoli, basilica, and freshly ground black pepper. BEYOND DELICIOUS!!

Stopped for my first pizza tasting experience in Napoli ๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡น and must say it was a real treat. But especially the "fritti" (deep-fried starters; the popular Neapolitan classics touched with innovation) were impressionable; light, tasty, and perfectly-crisp in every bite. ๐Ÿ˜‹ The pizza A'Pezzenella, with provola cheese, shavings of truffles, sausage, and toasted walnuts was quite delectable as well. ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡น Yum!!

Ciao tutti! As Christmas Eve (called La Vigilia di Natale in Italy) nears, I wanted to share a few of the delicious classic Neapolitan fish & seafood recipes that are staples on traditional tables for the evening feast meal celebrated in households in Naples and the Campania region (otherwise known as the "Feast of the Seven Fishes). This recipe for Marinated Fresh Anchovies is fabulous, and a much-appreciated addition to the delicious medley of dishes served as a part of the antipasto course here.
