🌍✨ Happy ! ✨🌍

Today, we celebrate the incredible power of travel to connect cultures, create lifelong memories, and drive global economic growth. But more than ever, we must focus on responsible tourism—the key to a sustainable future for both travellers and the communities that welcome them.

As tourism continues to expand, we are responsible for ensuring that our footprints uplift local economies, preserve cultural heritage, and, most importantly, protect the environment. The relationship between local communities and travellers should be balanced and respected, where tourism supports rather than strains and empowers rather than exploits.

Let’s embrace conscious travel choices that prioritize local businesses, cultural preservation, and environmental care together. This could mean staying in locally-owned accommodations, supporting community-based tourism initiatives, or participating in eco-friendly activities: https://silvias-trips.com/tourism-sustainability/

By making these choices, we can ensure that future generations can experience the beauty of our world in harmony.

“To be or not to be” might be the question, but on National Shakespeare Day, the answer is clear: be where his words still echo through time.
From the bustling streets of London to the timeless charm of Stratford-upon-Avon — here’s to the Bard who gave us *”wild-goose chase”* and *”all that glitters is not gold”*.
Forever grateful for the drama, the wit, and the poetry in everyday life. 🌿🎭

Dear fellow travellers,

After two years of careful thought, I have finally decided that Facebook is no longer the right fit for my journey. Not every social network suits everyone; for me, it just doesn’t capture the spirit of Silvia’s Trips anymore. While I will stop posting regular updates on Facebook, I’ll still be here to reply to any private messages you send.

Rest assured, I’m not disappearing from the online world. I remain as passionate as ever about sharing practical travel advice, inspiring stories, and tips for fellow solo female adventurers. My blog continues to be the heart of my travel storytelling, and I’m excited to keep exploring and sharing new experiences with you (I am currently writing about my freezing Icelandic adventure).

If you’d like to keep up with my adventures, you can find me here:
• The blog: https://silvias-trips.com
• Follow me on X and Instagram for travel insights, pics and updates:
• Email: [email protected]

Thank you for all your support, and I look forward to connecting with you on these platforms. Happy travels, and see you soon on Silvia’s Trips!

Warm wishes,
Silvia

Throwback to an unforgettable day trip from Cusco, exploring the beauty of the Sacred Valley! 🌿✨ From the colourful markets of Chinchero to the fascinating agricultural terraces of Moray, and finally, the stunning salt flats of Salineras de Maras – every stop was a dream. 😍🚍

Travelling solo through Peru in 2013 was an adventure of a lifetime, and I was amazed at how easy and affordable it was to hop on local buses for day trips like this! If you’re in Cusco, don’t miss this breathtaking journey.

Have you been to these incredible spots? Let me know your favourite! 👇🏽

A memorable 2-day stay in Kristiansund is the perfect stop between Trondheim and Ålesund.

If you’re a female solo traveller seeking a scenic Norwegian adventure, look no further than Kristiansund. Tucked between Trondheim and Ålesund, this charming coastal city offers the ideal break on your journey. I spent two days here during my 47-day trip through Norway, travelling by ferry to fully appreciate Norway’s iconic fjords. Whether you’re a nature lover, a film buff, or simply looking to explore a new destination, Kristiansund has plenty to offer.

As always, visit my blog to learn more about it and plan your trip.
