Sleeping inside one of Paris’s most famous landmarks is now possible — for just €15 a night. The Sacré-Cœur basilica in Montmartre offers overnight stays in simple dormitories, but with one important condition: guests must take part in a night of prayer.

Between 11 p.m. and 6 a.m., anyone staying overnight must choose a one-hour time slot to pray inside the basilica. This tradition, called the “night of adoration,” has been continuous since 1885 and is part of the basilica’s mission to maintain constant prayer, day and night.

Several accommodation options are available, from €15 for a shared dormitory to up to €45 for a private room with bathroom. Dinner can be booked in advance for an extra fee, while breakfast is included for those who participate in the night prayer. A covered corridor connects the sleeping areas directly to the basilica, so guests do not need to go outside during the night.

The experience is open to believers and non-believers alike. For some, it is an act of faith; for others, a rare opportunity for quiet reflection under the iconic dome of Sacré-Cœur — and a very unusual way to spend the night in Paris.
