Who doesn't love castles? There's just something magical about these ancient, formidable structures that captures the imagination, be it as historical touchstones or the bedrock of storybook fantasies.

The Italian Piedmont has no shortage of breathtaking castles to tour, some of which are open year-round (and a great many of which are actually for sale!). This Spring, we are excited to share the release of our very first vintage from San Lorenzo Alto—our Nebbiolo vineyard planted at an altitude of 600 meters above Villa San Lorenzo in the Alta Langa.

The journey here has been one of great care and dedication. From restoring these old-world villas to nurturing the vines on this steep, sun-kissed land, every step has been a labor of love. San Lorenzo Alto has seen its challenges—extreme weather, unpredictable growth, and meticulous attention—but these trials have only deepened our connection to the land and its rich winemaking history.

Now, as we release this wine, we are deeply grateful to contribute, however humbly, to the ongoing tradition of winemaking in the Langhe. Villa San Lorenzo is no longer just a place to experience the great wines of Piedmont; it is now a part of that story, with our very first vintage of Nebbiolo soon to be shared with the world.
