New on our five day July 2026 itinerary - an exciting truffle hunting experience, and a fascinating olive oil producer tour and tasting!

Meet Lilliana, one of the top truffle hunters anywhere in Italy, and her wonderful truffle dogs. Learn all about the culture, and get into the woods together, searching for the precious truffles. Whatever we find we’ll cook for dinner too 😍

Afterwards, wander amongst the olive groves at a local artisan olive grower and producer of the finest extra virgin oil! Your guide will tell you all about looking after the trees and growing the fruit, followed by a guided blind tasting in which you’ll learn to tell poor olive oil from the excellent stuff!

Fisherman and National Geographic 33 changemaker Paolo Il Pescatore made waves in global conservation circles by challenging illegal trawlers off Tuscany, Italy. The dozens of marble sculptures he lowered onto the seafloor prevent nets from destroying reefs and seagrass. Now he’s turned to dropping thousands of terra-cotta pots into the ocean to provide shelter for overfished octopuses.

The National Geographic 33—inspired by our 33 founders—is an initiative honoring changemakers who are rising to meet the most critical challenges of our time, making meaningful progress and incredible breakthroughs.
