Southern Lazio’s community of food artisans took center stage on last week’s trip with . From Olevano Romano to Frosinone and across the Valle di Comino, our hosts welcomed us into their shops, kitchens, and fields with generosity and a sense of purpose.
We even made a bit of history, tasting Roberta Pezzella’s first official gelato at , her landmark bakery.
I feel fortunate to share this side of Italy with travelers who are curious enough to trust us and follow along as we skip past the obvious and get to the core of things, the people who make food and wine with intention in a country where industrial production dominates and keeps gaining ground.
