☀️ Take in the beauty of Zion National Park in June ..
While June is during the busy season for Utah’s first national park - with a little pre-planning this is a beautiful time of year to visit! ..
You can make a reservation for a campsite as early as 6 months out for the conveniently located Watchman Campground. And if you want to hike the famous Angel’s Landing, be sure to enter the new lottery system for a permit. ..
Other than that, the park’s shuttle is free to ride and will get you to most places in Zion Canyon. I suggest the Observation Point hike as a permit-free (but equally gorgeous) alternative to the Angel’s Landing hike. Get an early start, as afternoon temps start to rise in June. But not to worry, a hile thru the Narrows in the Virgin River will cool you right off! ..

It's officially spooky season 👻
Time for frights and fall delights. 🎃What kind of spooky stuff do you have planned this fall? I'm definitely leaf peeping 🍁 👀 and *trying* to watch some scary movies 🫣😆
Snapped this moody shot on our hike out to Ann Lake in Washington while the whole area was covered in forest fire smoke. Definitely a little spooky, but still worth it. 🙌

Some trips are epic treks, while others are quiet walks - but both nourish the soul 😊
We recently returned from a long overdue trip to Michigan to visit family and connect with my family’s roots. This trip was postponed several times due to the pandemic but I’m so grateful we were finally able to make it happen!
I’m reminded by how important our human connections are. ❤️ Remember to cherish every moment with your loved ones folks! Do you have family you need to travel to see? Maybe it's time for a trip! ✈️

Do you like trying new things? 😋🌺
I do! I fell in love with this drink while in Egypt! It’s hibiscus tea (I think they call it karkadeh) and it’s sooo refreshing!
It’s made from steeping dried hibiscus flowers in boiling water and adding some sugar (or not) while it’s cooling. Once chilled the result is this brightly colored tart and tangy tea that’s so refreshing!
We were offered this drink (usually as a welcome) all over Egypt, but you could order it at restaurants too!
You can buy the dried hibiscus flowers in all the spice markets, I brought some home and have made several pitchers of it. It supposedly has great health benefits too!
If you want to try some this summer yourself, check your local international markets, I found some at the Hispanic and Arabic supermarkets!

Take a little trip to Philae Temple🌴
What a fascinating place! This temple was originally built around 690 BC to worship the goddess Isis. But when the Aswan low dam was built in the early 1900s the island where the temple sits was flooded.
In the 1960s UNESCO started a project to save this temple and others from the rising waters and successfully moved this temple and others to safer higher ground. You can still see water marks on the temple walls where the waterline used to be!
You can visit the Philae temple complex by heading to the Marina Philae Temple in Aswan, where official boats wait to take you to Agilkia Island for a small fee.

🌎Happy Earth Day!🌍
Today is the day we celebrate Earth and all her glorious beauty! But it's not just a celebration. It's also a friendly reminder to actively give a crap about this beautiful planet that we collectively call home. As far as we know, we only have one Earth!
So...let's pick up our own (and other's) trash. Reduce how much stuff we throw away (it's going SOMEWHERE when you throw it out.) Reuse as much as possible. Buy electric and hybrid cars. And acknowledge that climate change is very real, and unless we all start stepping up, it's coming for us real soon.
