No makeup. I'm 56 years old and imperfect.
Looking at my (Linked In) profile picture, someone recently told me my eyes couldn’t possibly be that blue, which made me laugh, because, well, they are.
In a world where we are constantly questioning what is real, edited, enhanced, generated, or too perfect beyond recognition, I think there is something quietly powerful about showing up as yourself.
Not because we need to prove anything.
But because visibility matters.
For me, this photo is not about beauty. It is about being comfortable enough to be seen without the performance.
I am a writer, a business owner, a woman over 50, and yes, still very much a work in progress.
Real is not always perfect.
But it is still valuable.
