Have you ever imagined meeting your past… in person?

Last year, Mary Giammarino reached out to me with a dream: to rebuild her family tree and uncover the story of her ancestors from Conca della Campania, dating back to the 1800s.

We searched through birth, marriage, and death records… piecing together generations of history.

Then came the most emotional part.

We finally met in Italy, and I took her and her two daughters to the small village where it all began.

And that’s when something incredible happened.

We met Pasquale — a man who once worked at the town hall.
He had personally written the death certificate of Mary’s last ancestor.

But it didn’t end there.

He welcomed us into his home…
and showed Mary a photo of her ancestor she had never seen before.

Then, as if by magic, he gifted her a book…
where her ancestor was featured.

Legend says the Gods of Olympus created the Path of the Gods as they rushed to help Ulysses, threatened by the Sirens near the island of Li Galli.
Today, I experienced this magical trail with a group of friends, surrounded by breathtaking views, stories, and the timeless beauty of the Amalfi Coast.
Along the way, we stopped at the shepherd’s place for a homemade lunch, filled with local flavors, traditional songs, and authentic music — one of those moments that truly make you feel the soul of this land.
