June 2026 begins a new chapter for me in Termini Imerese. 🇮🇹
After traveling back and forth for many years to the town my grandparents came from, and after spending years searching for the right home, I finally found the one I had been waiting for.
I officially purchased a home in Termini Imerese, and now the renovation journey begins.
For many years, I had been searching for the right home in Termini Imerese.
About six years ago, I was preparing to purchase a home from Stefania, one of the distant cousins I discovered through our AncestryDNA results. Although COVID prevented that purchase from moving forward, that experience connected us in a much bigger way.
From that point on, Stefania and I began working together to help others return to Termini Imerese, research their family history, visit ancestral locations, experience personalized heritage tours, and find homes of their own in Sicily.
Over the past six years, we have worked together and helped many people move closer to their own Sicilian dream.
This time, Stefania was beside me through the entire process, from the beginning of the search until the exact moment I received the keys to my own home.
And within minutes of receiving those keys, she was already working on the next stage.
She immediately began making phone calls, contacting different contractors, and arranging meetings at the house so we could begin discussing the renovations and the vision I have for the property.
The plan is to bring this beautiful home into modern times while still preserving the Sicilian character and style that make it special.
The home will be designed to maintain the feeling of a family home while also becoming a multi-unit B&B that can sleep up to eight people, with an incredible view over Termini Imerese.
I will be sharing the entire process along the way, including the renovation plans, design ideas, progress, challenges, decisions, and the people helping bring this vision to life.
