The Last Supper by Leonardo da Vinci is much more than a masterpiece—it is a journey into history, art, and mystery. Painted between 1495 and 1498 on the walls of the convent of Santa Maria delle Grazie in Milan, this extraordinary work was commissioned by Ludovico Sforza, Duke of Milan. Unlike traditional frescoes, Leonardo experimented with a dry technique that, while innovative, made the painting vulnerable to deterioration over the centuries. Despite this, it remains one of the most powerful and studied works of all time, capturing the moment Jesus announces that one of the apostles will betray him.
