From roaring trains to roaring crowds → the old coastal railway became the Sanremo cycle path. It even hosted the 2015 Giro d’Italia TTT. Today it’s pure sunshine, sea breeze, and smooth miles.

Smooth cadence or spinning chaos — your cassette ratio decides.
💡 Pro tip: if your rear derailleur’s at its limit, you might need a GS cage before going bigger.

CLIMB FASTER ⛰️
Here’s a hill session that actually builds real power:

🟢 Warm up 15 min
🔵 4 × 6 min at threshold (Zone 4)
🟣 4 min recovery between

Stay seated for control, add short standing bursts for strength.

Do this once a week and you’ll feel the difference every time the road tilts up 💥

Want to fly up hills this season?
Here’s a simple power session you can do on your local climb — or on the turbo:

15-min warm-up

4 × 6-min threshold efforts (Zone 4)

4-min recovery between

Stay seated for control, add 30-sec standing bursts for leg strength

Do this once a week and you’ll feel the difference on every gradient. 🔥

CASSETTE RATIOS — WHAT THE NUMBERS MEAN ⚙️
Your smallest cog sets your top speed.
Your biggest cog decides how easy it feels to climb.

👉 11–28 = race gearing — fast, tight jumps.
👉 11–32 = all-rounder — smooth shifts and solid range.
👉 11–34+ = climbing comfort — for when gradients get rude.

⚙️ But before you upgrade that cassette…
Check your rear derailleur capacity:

Short cage (SS) → up to around 30–32T

Medium cage (GS) → up to 34–36T

Long cage (SGS) → for wide-range 11–40+ setups

💡 Pro tip:
You can use a GS derailleur with smaller cogs like 11–28 or 11–30 — it just gives you more flexibility if you ever swap to a bigger cassette later.
Just size your chain correctly and you’re golden.

Ever wondered what those weird numbers on your crankset actually mean? ⚙️
Your chainrings decide whether you glide up a climb or grind in pain.

🔸 53/39 — “Standard” → Race gearing. Great for flats, harsh on climbs.
🔸 52/36 — “Semi-compact” → All-rounder for strong riders.
🔸 50/34 — “Compact” → Ideal for hilly routes and endurance.
🔸 46/30 — “Super-compact” → For gravel, touring, or sanity on steep climbs.

👉 Two teeth can change your day more than you think.
