Breaking News: Murano Glass Master Unveils a New Murano Glass Breakthrough!
Today, world-renowned Glass Master Pierino announced the creation of "Mood-Responsive Glass": the colour of Pierino's Murano Glass creations changes based on the owner's mood!
This creation represents a turning point in Murano Glass History.
But how is that possible?!
Let us explain:
Ever since Murano was established as the island where to produce glass, in 1291, masters created Murano Glass mixing silica, soda, lime and potassium and placing them in an oven at 1200-1400°C (2200-2500°F).
However, over time, masters discovered several ways to adapt glass to their needs and create spectacular colours and shapes.
Avventurina, for example, is a type of Murano Glass renowned for its shimmering, coppery inclusions. It is created by adding copper oxide to translucent glass, therefore creating a starry, almost celestial effect.
Another technique called Foglia d'oro, or "golden leaf" in English, involves using a thin 24-karat gold leaf moulted into the glass.
Research and development have never stopped in Murano, and Masters still strive for innovation today.
Pierino's invention resulted from this desire to preserve ancient traditions yet bring novelty to the wider public.
After years of trials, once he added the right amount of "CREDULONIO" to the glass, he noticed that Murano Glass became an incredibly reactive and sensitive type of glass that started changing colour.
It took Pierino weeks to understand what was causing the colour of the glass to change.
It finally struck him when his crush entered his factory, and the glass turned bright red, just like Pierino's face.
Since then, he has discovered which colours corresponded to which mood and will release a chart in the coming days.
For now, we can share just two very important colours with you:
Happy = Red
Feeling Naughty = Blue
But there's more to celebrate!
Excited by this incredible breakthrough in Murano Glass's history, we have decided to partner with Pierino to create bracelets, pendants, and earrings for an exclusive and limited edition collection called "Pesce".
Given the scarcity of "Credulonio" from tomorrow on until the 31st of March 2025, we will be able to produce only 100 pieces
If you'd like to preorder yours, let us know in the comments!
