“Just Around The River Bend” or in my case puddles before I started my walk it down poured and had to postpone, however within an hour from it I was able to complete my 2nd of 4 5ks with this virtual run for run Disney in “Pocahontas”.

Although when I started, there was no wind or no colors of the wind as I was coming around my 3rd mile marker God must’ve known I needed a nice breeze of wind as the sun was starting to peek through and the humidity was coming back and it was starting to feel hot .

I completed 2 of 5K’s of the 4 and it really feels great. I haven’t walked a 3.1 /5k miles since February 2026 although that was 6.2 for the 10k back in February of this year after beating Stage 1 Breast Cancer (HER2+/ER-&PR-) and kicking MS in it’s A.

Today’s theme of the virtual was Pocahontas “Just Around The Riverbend Virtual 5k “ along with myplaylist and trusty walker/husband /photographer and coach Steve .

Next week it will be Hercules “ Go The Distance 5k “

If anyone wants to join me, let me know ahead of time you can message me. I would love to have a group of “Disney/we call ourselves geeks” fans to join me and we could have fun with this virtual.

To get in the spirit of a RUNDisney event get out your Halloween costumes as you’ll need to wear a toga or dress in anything Greek that your hearts content and will have some fun.

We’ll meet at the Manheim Township library/overlook community campus. It would either be a Tuesday or a Thursday as my husband has days off , however time and date will be determined, depending on weather.

What was once the “forever days gone by theme” with hints of Mark Twain and Tom Sawyer that gave a rustic feel had water attractions named as “Upstream Plunge Pool, Whoop n Holler water slides , and sandy bottom bay cove” will now be known as Disney’s Lakeshore Resort making this resort Walt Disney World’s 32nd resort in property.

MANY Disney fans especially those that LOVED Disney’s Fort Wilderness Campsites and Resorts have always had a deep love for “Disney’s River Country” known that the property once was Disney’s first ever themed water park before water parks became a staple well before its time from 1976 when it first opened to its final days of closing in 2001 has been undergoing MAJOR renovation since 2019 with the property being converted into a NEW Walt Disney World Resort the NEW Disney’s Lakeshore Lodge.

With an expected opening date of July 1, 2027 — here Disney is giving us our first look at what guests can expect , this will be a NEW DVC Resort.

📅 BOOKING WINDOW OPENS AS FOLLOWS:
Oct. 6 — Disney Vacation Club Members
Oct. 7 — Annual Passholders
Oct. 8 — All Guests

HERE’s the ROOM THEMES BELOW:
•Encanto Duo Studios — sleep up to 2
•Bambi Deluxe Studios — sleep up to 4
•Pocahontas Resort Studios — options for 2 or 4 guests
•The Artist’s Nest! A Club Level Lounge which will be perched above the treetops and offer select guests rooms , personalized service, complimentary refreshments AND of course exclusive views of the Magic Kingdom fireworks.

Guests of this resort will also have a choice of Quick Service and Table Service options when staying.

The BIG question of this resort is will they pay homage to what was once the famous “ Disney’s River Country ?” Time will tell as the resort’s main pool will be named “ Lakeshore Lagoon “ with of course views of Bay Lake which still have a rustic vibe and will also have a themed “Pocahontas” water play areas for a children.

Disney has released photos of the rooms that have been completed and also conceptual art renderings of other main areas of the resort to give guests a feel of what’s been constructed so far.

It’s official breaking news : Our wish here in the Northeast has FINALLY come true. As we have been patiently awaiting that the Disney Cruise Lines returns to NYC with the Disney Wish” in the Fall of 2027 and Spring 2028 with 4 to 7 day itineraries to Bermuda and then to New England’s along the Canadian Atlantic Coast. Let’s chat if you’re ready to go and with 4 months to the day of Christmas NOW is the time to chat!
