the Hijjaz railway ( ) still runs to Rum! and the route is heavy with history. . . we have followed it to Mudawwarah on the Saudi border, up to al Hisa in the heartlands of Jordan, and all the way down to the port of Aqaba, where these days it delivers phosphates for export. . . Saleh's Safari Camp for wadirumtours.com is in a spectacular, tranquil location at the heart of the protected area, nestling close to Jebel Khazali. . . yes, you can spend time with the camels but there are problems!! they can be a bit smelly and they move rather slowly!
