On Monday, November 17, 2025, Skål International Osaka gathered for its November monthly meeting at W Osaka, welcoming 30 members and guests, including 4 visitors, to an evening defined by creativity, connection, and the signature energy of Japan’s first W brand hotel.

The evening began with a welcome speech from Skål Osaka President Mr. Kusunoki, followed by greeting remarks from Mr. Peter Lucas, General Manager of W Osaka.

Following the opening addresses, guests enjoyed a Welcome Reception, then dinner in a banquet room overlooking Midosuji, beautifully illuminated for the season. A specially curated modern French course menu highlighted local and seasonal flavors.

Our sincere appreciation goes to Mr. Lucas and the entire W Osaka team for their exceptional hospitality and thoughtful planning, which made this gathering truly memorable.

We had a wonderful opportunity last month.
It was the joint SKAL NAGOYA and SKAL OSAKA competition held on October 10th at The Country Club in Shiga Prefecture.
We were blessed with beautiful sunny weather, and 12 people in three groups took on a beautiful and difficult course.
Although Osaka was slightly behind, no one was injured and we all had a great time together, thanks to the organizers of both clubs.

On Monday, October 20, 2025, Skål International Osaka gathered for its October monthly meeting at the Portopia Hotel Kobe, welcoming 33 members and guests to an evening of exceptional hospitality and fellowship.

The evening began with a Welcome Reception on the rooftop terrace “Sorafune Kobe,” where participants enjoyed the spectacular Kobe Fireworks, part of Minato HANABI 2025: “Five Days to Color Kobe.” We were very fortunate that our meeting day coincided with this special citywide celebration.

Dinner followed at the Banquet Hall “Exia.” During the toast, President Kusunoki celebrated the success of Expo 2025 Osaka, noting that “the learnings and inspiration from this remarkable event will further elevate our tourism and hospitality industry — not only in the Kansai region, but across all of Japan.”

Guests were treated to an exquisite Japanese course dinner themed around the autumn harvest, beautifully paired with the renowned Juyondai sake, and accompanied by live saxophone and vocal performances that created an elegant and festive atmosphere.

Our heartfelt thanks to Mr. Nakauchi and his team for their warm hospitality and thoughtful arrangements, which made this evening truly memorable for all attendees.

On Monday, September 16, 2025, Skål International Osaka convened its September monthly meeting at the elegant JW Marriott Hotel Nara.

A total of 20 members and 2 invited guests were welcomed with warm hospitality and a refined atmosphere, highlighted by a live kitchen experience and live musical performance that added to the evening’s convivial spirit.

The gathering provided an excellent platform for professional networking, idea exchange, and fellowship among members of the travel and tourism industry.

On Monday, June 17, 2025, Skål International Osaka held its monthly meeting at the DoubleTree by Hilton Osaka Castle, welcoming 31 members and 3 guests for an evening of hospitality, culinary excellence, and meaningful exchange.

The event was hosted at the newly opened property, which debuted in May 2024 as the first DoubleTree by Hilton hotel in Osaka. Ideally located along the Tembabashi riverside, the hotel has quickly established itself as a new landmark in the Osaka Castle area, offering both convenience and spectacular views of one of the city’s most iconic sites.

The program began with a guided hotel tour, providing guests with a firsthand look at the contemporary design and thoughtful details throughout the hotel.

A welcome reception followed at the 6th floor ‘Lounge & Bar SEN’, where guests enjoyed light refreshments with panoramic views of the illuminated Osaka Castle.

Dinner was held on the 7th floor at “Sakura”, featuring a French course menu inspired by early summer, curated by Executive Chef Kitahara and his culinary team. Each course was paired with carefully selected beverages—from champagne to Dassai sake—highlighting seasonal flavors and enhancing the dining experience.

The evening concluded with a sweet farewell gift of DoubleTree’s signature warm chocolate chip cookie, adding a thoughtful and personal touch.

On Monday, May 19, 2025, Skål International Osaka gathered at the elegant Ritz-Carlton, Osaka for its May meeting, welcoming 6 new members to our growing community.

Celebrating its 28th anniversary this year, The Ritz-Carlton, Osaka remains one of the city’s most iconic international luxury hotels, renowned for its classical European charm and timeless hospitality.

Guests enjoyed an exceptional evening of fine food, wine, and service. The beautifully crafted menu featured seasonal ingredients and refined presentations, including sea bream carpaccio, Atlantic salmon in shellfish broth, and tenderloin with morel sauce—followed by a delicate milk chocolate mousse with yuzu cream and raspberry sauce.

On Monday, April 7, 2025, Skål International Osaka held its April meeting at the elegant Imperial Hotel Osaka, welcoming 32 members and guests for an evening of fine wine, seasonal cuisine, and warm hospitality.

Set along the Okawa River, Imperial Hotel Osaka is known for its stunning location and beautiful views of cherry blossoms in spring, making it a perfect setting for this seasonal gathering.

The evening began with a welcome reception in the 22nd-floor Apollon Room, where guests enjoyed relaxed conversations over glasses of sparkling wine from the historic Katashimo Winery in Osaka. The featured wine, “Tako-Shan,” was served during the reception and for the opening toast, setting a festive tone for the night ahead.

Dinner followed in the adjacent Pisces Room, where a beautifully curated French menu was served, created by the hotel’s Executive Chef to celebrate the arrival of spring. The theme of the evening centered on the harmony between Japanese wines and French cuisine, thoughtfully brought to life through every dish and pairing.

The wine selection featured a smooth red wine, “King Selby Bijou Noir,” also from Katashimo Winery, made from 100% Osaka-grown grapes. Guests also enjoyed “Kyouto,” an original white wine exclusive to Imperial Hotel, developed in collaboration with Katsunuma Winery and the hotel’s sommelier team. Crafted from Koshu grapes, this elegant white wine paired beautifully with both Japanese and Western dishes.

In a creative twist, the wines were also incorporated into the dishes themselves—Tako-Shan was used in the dessert, while Bijou Noir enhanced the flavor of the meat course through its rich sauce. The menu also showcased local ingredients, including a comforting soup made with “Tennoji turnips,” a traditional vegetable grown in Osaka.

It was a refined and seasonally inspired evening that beautifully showcased the best of Japanese wine, local produce, and French culinary artistry. Special thanks to General Manager Iio and the team at Imperial Hotel Osaka for their exceptional hospitality and for creating such a memorable experience for our members.

On Monday, February 17, 2025, Skål International Osaka came together for a truly memorable evening at the newly opened Four Seasons Hotel Osaka. The event brought together 30 members and guests for a night of great conversation, fine dining, and celebration at one of the city’s most exciting new luxury destinations.

Opened on August 1, 2024, Four Seasons Hotel Osaka is one of the newest additions to Osaka’s luxury hotel scene, blending sophisticated design, world-class hospitality, and breathtaking panoramic city views. This gathering was a wonderful opportunity for members to experience the hotel’s signature charm and elegance firsthand.

The evening kicked off with a guided tour for those interested, offering a glimpse into the hotel’s beautifully designed interiors and premium amenities. Guests were then welcomed to the 37th-floor Private Bar, where they enjoyed a relaxed and stylish reception, sipping cocktails while soaking in sweeping views of Osaka’s skyline.

At 7:00 PM, everyone moved to the 2nd-floor Ballroom, where President Kusunoki opened the evening with a warm welcome speech and toast. From there, the night unfolded into an exceptional dining experience, featuring a seasonally inspired multi-course menu that celebrated the finest Japanese ingredients. The combination of elegant dishes and carefully chosen wine pairings made the evening truly special.
