For a obvious reason, Yamatora Tour is not providing its service. I’m so grateful almost everyday I get some likes.

I became professional translator working on translation and subtitling.

Art catalogues, movie scripts, Red Bull TV, Netflix, travel documentaries, and so on. Yamatora Tours has evolved into Yamatora Language Service😀

Do you know Kintsugi?
I wrote an article about pottery repair techniques called Kintsugi.

Crack! Even the most beloved pottery and ceramics cannot escape its "destiny" and may eventually get chipped or cracked. But what do you do with the broken pieces? Well, in Japan, there is a restoration technique called Kintsugi to help. Kintsugi is a method of pottery repair, filling gaps, chips an...

Early lotus season: Hokongo-In Temple is known for gorgeous lotus flowers. Lotuses come into bloom four times, once a day, and in the afternoon of the fourth day after the first bloom, the petals fall off. It’s a symbolic flower in Buddhism. If you are planning to come to Kyoto in July, please let me know and perhaps we could incorporate an early morning visit to view the lotuses during your tour.

May, 2018: I guided a group of three from Canada to Fushimi-Inari Shrine, Tofukuji Zen temple and the Gion. In the Gion we were incredibly fortunate to see a maiko making the rounds of the area, greeting clients and local people, as part of her ceremonial debut. It was a very rare moment and the perfect opportunity to learn more about Geisha culture in Kyoto.

March, 2018, I guided an American couple in Kyoto. I crafted their itineraries incorporating my recommendations, visited Murin-an garden for a few peaceful moments in the morning and Honmanji for the weeping cherry tree which was in bloom, both of them were quite happy about the places we covered today. The husband is a big fan of sake, so I made sure he purchased some Kyoto sake at Nishiki Market.
