Salmon sushi has an unexpected history in Japan. 🌊Although today it’s one of the most popular choices, the idea of eating raw salmon was met with resistance when it was first introduced in the 1980s. Prior to that, salmon was considered unsafe for raw consumption due to parasites, and was usually grilled or pan-fried. The turning point came when the Norwegian government began exporting farmed salmon, ensuring it was parasite-free. Despite initial skepticism from Japanese consumers, the mild flavor and smooth texture eventually won them over. 🍣
Salmon quickly became a favorite, particularly for its health benefits and affordability. Do you like salmon sushi? Let us know in the comments!
