⛰️ SHIN-ETSU TRAIL
Why not hike this long-distance trail, spanning approximately 110km and connecting Japan’s beautiful mountains?

Nozawa Hospitality offers supported hiking packages available exclusively from July to October.

5-Day Half Trail
A five-day journey to savor the heart of the trail.

11-Day Full Trail Immersion
A complete trail experience, including rest days.
Take your time walking the entire Shin-Etsu Trail over 11 days.

♨️ During your stay, you can also enjoy the approximately 13 public hot spring baths (*soto-yu*) in Nozawa Onsen.

9月8日・9日は、野沢温泉の伝統が息づく「燈籠祭り・湯澤神社例祭」へ。

9月8日の夜には、温泉街を彩る燈籠とともにお練りが湯澤神社へ。猿田彦の舞や獅子舞、神社での三十六歌仙舞、そして夜空を彩る花火も楽しめます。🎆

翌9日には湯澤神社の例祭が行われ、地域に受け継がれてきた文化を身近に感じることができます。

祭りを楽しんだあとは、野沢温泉ならではの外湯巡りも♨️

少し涼しくなり始める9月。
昼は温泉街を散策、夜は燈籠祭り、最後は温泉でゆっくり。

On September 8–9, experience one of Nozawa Onsen’s traditional festivals, where the village comes alive with lanterns, traditional performances and local culture.

On the evening of September 8, a lantern-lit procession makes its way through the historic hot spring streets to Yuzawa Shrine. Enjoy traditional dances, lion dancing, the Sanjurokkasen Dance, and fireworks lighting up the night sky. 🎆

The celebrations continue on September 9 with the annual Yuzawa Shrine Festival, offering another opportunity to experience the culture and traditions that have been passed down through generations.

After the festivities, relax with a traditional public bath tour and experience the unique onsen culture of Nozawa Onsen. ♨️

September is a beautiful time to visit, as the summer heat begins to ease.

【野沢温泉燈籠祭り・湯澤神社例祭 / Nozawa Onsen Lantern Festival & Yuzawa Shrine Festival】
🏮 9月の野沢温泉で、特別な夏の夜を✨
毎年9月8日・9日に開催される「野沢温泉燈籠祭り・湯澤神社例祭」は、野沢温泉に古くから受け継がれてきた伝統のお祭りです。
Held every year on September 8 and 9, the Nozawa Onsen Lantern Festival and Yuzawa Shrine Festival is one of the village’s long-standing traditions, passed down through generations.

9月8日は、温泉街が祭りの舞台に。夜になると燈籠に灯りがともり、お練りが温泉街を通って湯澤神社へ向かいます。
On 8th September as the sun goes down, lanterns begin to glow and a traditional procession winds its way through the streets towards Yuzawa Shrine.

道中では「猿田彦の舞」や「獅子舞」、神社では「三十六歌仙舞」など、地域で大切に受け継がれてきた伝統芸能を見ることができます。
Along the way, you’ll have the chance to see traditional performances such as the Sarutahiko Dance and Lion Dance, followed by the Sanjurokkasen Dance at Yuzawa Shrine — local traditions that have been carefully preserved for generations.

そして、夜空には花火も。🎆
And to make the evening even more special, fireworks light up the night sky.

祭りを楽しんだあとは、野沢温泉ならではの外湯巡りを楽しむのもおすすめです。♨️
And after the festivities, there’s no better way to end the evening than with a relaxing soak in one of Nozawa Onsen’s traditional public baths.
