北軽井沢に移住したきっかけ🪵

夫と知り合ってから4年、ほぼずっと移住先を2人で探していました。
長い時間をかけて、色んな場所を見に出掛けて、色んな人に相談して、時に諦めかけたり、互いを励ましたりを繰り返して。
最終的に大きな転換点になったのは、去年2月に参加した嬬恋村の移住体験ツアーでした。

神奈川のマンション育ちで、いくら調べて情報を集めてはいても、実際の寒い山の冬越しがどんなものか不安で決めかねていた去年。
⁡
2泊3日のツアーで北軽井沢の真冬を実際に体験して、地元の方や先輩移住者と知り合ったり、相談したり。地元で食事をして、現地レジャーを体験。そして何より、この土地がよそ者を歓迎してくれることを肌感で感じれたこと。細々とした不安や疑問を親身に解消してもらえた事が大きなきっかけ→ブーストとなり、やがて今の家に出会うことができました。

そんな移住体験ツアーが今年も開催されるそうです。
非常に微力ながら私たちも少しだけお手伝いさせて頂けることになりました。

1) 専属コーディネーターがオンラインで事前相談
2) 現地ログハウスに滞在して、冬の暮らしを体験

北軽井沢に移住してまだ3ヶ月ほどですが、今のところ控えめに言って最高です。
ただ、所変われば暮らしも変わります。移住ハードルの乗り越え方を是非相談•体験しにきてください。

To any of you who might be planning an escape to the countryside, we strongly recommend to join this experience, offered in Tsumagoi, Gunma.
⁡
Designed to govern potential newcomers a chance to see the beautiful surroundings, meet some locals, and get a taste of the snowy conditions, it includes two free nights of accommodation in the town so you just have to get yourself there and pay for your own food.
⁡
Last year’s tour included a snowshoeing experience and a trip to a local onsen but this year the plan is to tailor it a bit more to visitor’s own interests and questions about country living.

いまさら今年初投稿…さすがにもう明けましておめでたくないね🎍

2023年下半期は怒涛のDeep Gorgeでした。
8月のJOHN個展、10月は工房からの風。
そして、11月は引っ越しだったのです。
⁡
ただでさえ陶芸工房の引っ越しは大仕事なので、クラフトフェアの1週間後に引っ越しとか正気の沙汰じゃないと思いつつ、成り行きでそうなってしまい笑、なんとか無理くりやり遂げたのでした。
⁡
そして、これまで7年間工房兼自宅があった鎌倉を遠く離れ、いまは群馬県北軽井沢に居を構えました。(詳しくはthreadsをご参照あれ)

全然インスタ更新しないけど、ちゃんと仕事してるの？！というと、今現在作陶は行なっておりません。大切な窯は預かって頂いており、新しい工房予定地を探してる状況です。
⁡
新工房立ち上げ準備と、新居を整える作業(これがやってもやっても終わらない沼)を行いながら、初めての山での冬を過ごしています。
⁡
Threadsでは日々細々とした新生活の様子を呟いていますが、インスタもしばらくそんな感じになるかと思いますので、宜しくお願いします。

今年の抱負は新しい工房で、Deep Gorge作品の小さなギャラリーと陶芸体験工房をオープンさせることです。

Okay so here’s what’s been going on:
Last November, my husband and I have relocated to Kitakaruizawa, Gunma.
⁡
Moving a studio is usually a huge hassle for a pottery artist and I sure wasn’t an exception. It was quite a lot of work but we somehow managed to get it done a week after the craft fair. (I still don’t know how we managed that)

Right now, I am in the process of setting up my new studio here in Kitakaruizawa, whilst building our new life and enjoying the forst winter in the mountains.

The new studio will be opening sometime this year, but until then, I will be posting about our new life here and on Threads.

さあもうどこから投稿しようか…
この最近色々ありすぎたのです。
まずはもう1ヶ月以上経っちゃったけど、素晴らしい経験をさせてもらった「工房からの風」について。
実は終わった直後に投稿文は書いていたのですが、バタバタしてるうちにポストせずじまいに。

もう来年の募集が始まっているクラフトフェアです。参加した事のないものづくり屋さん達に心からお勧めしたいイベントでした。検討されている方は是非！！過去の参加者に何か質問がもしあればDMください。
連続参加はできないので、私は24年はお客さんとして楽しむ予定です😊

遅ればせながら2023年「工房からの風」、終了しました。夜中にパラついた雨も、昼間は最高に心地良い秋晴れ。

ご来場いただいた皆様。運営スタッフ、風人の皆様、さん。ご一緒させていただいた作家の皆様。そして助太刀にきてくれた .body.cleaning 。
本当にありがとうございました。

大きなクラフトフェアは初めてで、慣れないことばかりでテンパり通しだったけど、本当ー！に楽しかった。
⁡
沢山の先輩たちに囲まれて、色んなことを教えてもらって、気遣ってもらって、心地良い距離感で一緒にイベントを盛り立てようっていう一体感があって。今回出会った人たちが、思い出して嬉しくなるくらい気持ちの良い方ばかりで、本当に幸せな時間でした。

初めましてのお客様に沢山！出会えたのも嬉しい収穫。
⁡
普段はどこで買えますか？と訊いてくださった沢山の方に常設店をご案内させてもらいましたが、来年は新しい工房でお店もできたらなー。せめてオンラインショップだけでもなー。とまた夢が膨らみました。

工房からの風に向けての準備と並行して、移転前の不用品処分を進めています。
新居にいらない家具家電はもちろん、大分くたびれていた洗面器とかやかんとか、これを機会に買い換えるものも含めると、結構情け容赦なく捨てまくってるところ。

工房の道具等に関しては、傷だらけのハゲハゲになってても、どうしてもこの大きさがちょうどいいんだよなー、とか、このしなりが絶妙に使いやすんだよー、とかあって捨てられないんだけど。
⁡
不思議なもので、今朝まで使ってたものでも、ゴミ袋に入れた途端にアレ？ここまでボロボロだった？って急に印象が変わったりする。
それはまるで、死んでしまった生き物とか亡くなった人が急に一回り小さくなる感覚に似ていて。
⁡
モノも日々使い続けている限りは魂が籠るんだろうなー、なんて思ったり。
今までありがとうネって話しかけながらエーコラとゴミ捨て場に運んでいくのでした。

As I prepare for the craft fair this weekend, I am also getting ready for my move in November by discarding A LOT of stuff.
⁡
I need to be ruthless for this is a great opportunity to renew many things, as we probably all do when we relocate.
⁡
With that being said, that rarely qualifies for my studio tools, no matter how scratched and peeled they look, because somethings are just impossible to replace🙄
⁡
Something I noticed when I put things into a trash bag, was that sometimes they suddenly seem so much more worn out than when I was using it that same morning.
It’s a similar feeling I get when I see a dead creatures or a deceased person, and they suddenly look smaller than when they were alive.
⁡
Maybe as we use our belongings everyday we keep their spirits alive, including our houses.
So this morning as I carried the garbage bags to the dumpster, I whispered my little thanks to all those that supported my life in this house.

きたる11月、Deep Gorgeはこれまで拠点だった鎌倉から、群馬県北軽井沢に移転します。
⁡
陶芸工房の移転は普通の引越しより更にちょっと大仕事なので、今は10/28-29”工房からの風” に向けての準備と合わせて、ちょっとワチャワチャしています。
⁡
でも、ほぼ初めてのクラフトフェア参加！新天地への移転！ということで、ワクワクが勝ってるかな。
⁡
11月上旬に鎌倉の工房を閉めて、向こうでの作陶再開時期は一旦未定です。なので、それまでは僅かですが手元の在庫作品でお仕事させて頂きます。でもこのまま辞めちゃう、とかは絶対にないです👋

これまで神奈川で生まれ育って、群馬県の山奥に引越すことになるとは思わなかった。人生何が起こるかわからないことだらけですね。

This upcoming November, Deep Gorge will be relocating from Kamakura to Kita-Karuizawa in Gunma prefecture.
⁡
My husband and I are super excited for our new life in the mountains, as I prepare for my final big gig before the move - Oct28-29, “ ouboukaranokaze ” in Nikke Colton Plaza, Chiba.
With that being said, things are a little hectic in Kamakura right now, trying to get ready for both the moving and the craft fair.

I will be closing up my beloved studio, where I worked and resided for the past eight years, in the beginning of November. The reopening in Kita-Karuizawa is TBD, but I will definitely make sure to come back asap and keep you in the loop.

In the mean time, maybe I’ll start a new account about our huge + completely unexpected until a few years ago, twist in our lives. Hehe

今年のでの個展が終了しました。
10日間ほぼ晴天続きだったのに、終わった途端に台風！
本当ラッキーでした。普段の行いがいいのかしら。(心当たりはない)
連日の猛暑の中、お越し頂いた皆様、本当に本当にありがとうございました。

次回は、10/28-29 市川市にて”工房からの風” に初参加します！
⁡
東京、千葉のみなさん、遊びにきてね。
⁡
ほぼ初めての本格クラフトフェアに緊張と興奮。すごく楽しみです。あっという間なんだろうな。

そして、その後、Deep Gorgeは特大プロジェクトを控えております…

We finished Deep Gorge Exhibition 2023 at yesterday.
We’re lucky we didn’t have a typhoon for ten days and a big one seems to be headed this way the moment we finished!

My next event will be in Ichikawa, Chiba at a craft fair called “Kobo no Kaze.” This is my first year joining the event. I am definitely super thrilled to meet lots of new people there.

での個展会期中です。
暑い中沢山の方にお越し頂いて嬉しい限り。

2019年からほぼ毎年やらせていただいているせいか、毎回来てくださるお客様も増えて本当に幸せだなあ、と噛み締めています。

個展は毎回、搬入のその日まで自分との闘いなので、一旦会期が始まるとつい皆さんの温かい言葉やの美味しいコーヒーやお菓子に甘やかしてもらってホクホク肥えてゆきます😋

いよいよ今週末からでの個展が始まります。
そして、最初の週末はのスペシャルかき氷が戴けますよー！あー楽しみ。

現在、稼働中の窯小屋は50度です。
真夏のサウジアラビアってこんな感じなのかなー、とか思いつつ、そっと窯小屋を出ます。
ずっとあそこは無理や。

泣いても笑ってもあともう少し！
追い込み頑張ります。

鎌倉は台風どころか、結構しっかり蝉が鳴いてるんですが、西の方はやっぱり荒れてるんでしょうか？大きい被害になりませんように。

窯を入れてる時に停電になると悲惨だから、こっち直撃じゃなくて助かっています。
⁡
と、いうのが、只今寝ても覚めても個展準備中。
起きて30分後から、寝る30分前まで陶芸陶芸陶芸の日々です。(DMいつ発送するんだろう…)
⁡
個展前になると、作業しながらオーディブルで歴史小説を聴くのが最近の定番。
爆笑カウボーイとか、佐久間宣之のオールナイトニッポンとか、東野ホンモノラジオ聴いてる時もあるけど(偏り笑)、小説の方が没頭できるかな。
⁡
いま聴いてるのは、”蜩ノ記”
映画観たことなかったんだけど、聴き終わったら観てみるかも。でも敢えてこのままでいい気もしちゃう。
いつの間にか夏も終盤だなー🎐

I hope everyone’s alright in the west side of Japan. I can still hear cicadas in Kamakura so seemingly no need to worry about the power going out during a firing.

Right now, I’m working on my exhibition pieces from morning to night. All day, everyday.
Lots of pressure but definitely blessed to be able to concentrate like this.

I listen to a lot of things while I work including music and radio but my recent favorite is audio books.
I’m on “Higurashi no Ki,” a history novel about a falsely accused samurai in Edo period. Most of it takes place in a summer and it feels really right to be enjoying it around this time of the year🎐
