Women in Kendo by World Kendo Federation Japanese women rule supreme in high ranked kendo competition The women in this category hold the rank of 6th Dan or 7th Dan.

After watching demonstrations of traditional sword martial arts and an exhibition team match made of the fighters who placed highly in yesterday’s competition with some local Russian competitors included in the mix, the Women’s Special Invitational Individual Competition for highly ranked players commenced. The highest rank in kendo is 8th Dan, but as of yet, no women have ever passed this grade.
