Did you know Switzerland offers all this? 🤯
Islands with tropical charm, citrus greenhouses, desert plants and alpine flowers – perfect if you can't wait for nature to turn green.
🌷 Botanical Garden of the University of Basel – In the spring, outdoor flowerbeds burst with early bloomers such as magnolias and daffodils, before the greenhouse showcases the famous giant Victoria water lily.
🌴 Perched above Lago Maggiore, the Botanical Garden of Gambarogno is a lush hillside park filled with camellias, magnolias, azaleas and rare conifers. It’s a peaceful spot to slow down and immerse yourself in Ticino’s subtropical flora.

🌸 Alpinum Schatzalp – At 1,800 m above sea level, alpine flowers bloom across this mountain garden from mid-May to summer, so save this for later (the season typically starts mid-May, depending on snow conditions).
🌵 Zurich Succulent Plant Collection – Step into warm, sunlit greenhouses home to sculptural cacti and desert plants from all over the world – and if you’re lucky, you’ll catch one of the rare and fleeting flowerings.
