We, at Olive Trek Safaris, love to have alfresco meals in the bush, with infinite array of magnificent landscapes & sceneries.
Breakfast, is a daily occurrence, and sometimes if nature agrees, you can choose your animal to join you…..well not quite, but a little extra distance may be required.
However, we like to surprise you with an occasional bush dinner, where everlasting memories are fulfilled.

I have often been asked, “How close can you get to the gorillas?”
‘Is this close enough for you?’
“How big are they?”
Just look at the third photo, the silverback is huge; it puts us to shame….

It is a thrilling experience to see the magnificent Mountain Gorilla – perhaps one of the most dramatic, thrilling and poignant wildlife experiences possible.

There is nothing better than an early morning game drive and you happen to find a huge male lion on patrol, everything stops to admire this magnificent creature, some in fear, others in admiration.

The first three photos is a juvenile Monitor Lizzard and the third photo it is all puffed up, trying hard to make itself look larger!
Their tails are formidable weapons and can unleash a pretty nasty ‘smack’, luckily I have managed to stay well away from that!

The white throated savannah monitor lizard, was taken, sometime ago, in Tsavo East National park and was happy to pose for us.
They do enjoy living and laying their eggs in these termite mounds. Not only to the mounds keep warm during the cold nights, but also a safe haven for the young.
What I also find interesting is the golden ring in their eye; presume this is a reflection from the light.
Interestingly enough the White throated savannah monitor lizzard, can live up to 12 – 20 years.
I find them fascination and interesting creatures.
