These are the future kings of Lake Nakuru National Park.

The young males may look playful now, but every pounce, stalk, and ambush is serious training for survival in the wild. From sneaking through the grass to wrestling with their brothers, they’re building the strength and skills they’ll need one day to defend territory and lead a pride.

Did you know? Young male lions usually stay with their pride for around 2–3 years before being pushed out to form a coalition with their brothers or other males. Together, they’ll roam for years before attempting to take over a pride of their own.

For now though… it’s all practice, play fights, and perfecting the art of the stalk 🐾
