One of those magical little safari moments you never forget!

We came across two zebras hanging out beside the road, and then spotted the littlest giraffe — so tiny, with its umbilical cord still visible! ❤️

A beautiful reminder that there is always something special waiting around the next corner on safari.

When you’re trying to enjoy a peaceful safari and suddenly find yourself in the front row of a buffalo’s very public bathroom break…

He was completely unfazed — grazing right beside the car, casually wandering into the road, stopping for an impressively long p*e while staring straight at us… and then simply strolling away as though nothing had happened.

The African bush really does provide the most unexpected entertainment!

There’s nothing quite like being up close with baby elephants!

These little ones were having the BEST time playing, exploring and generally being ridiculously cute. From playful little trunks to wobbly feet and plenty of mischief, watching elephant calves at play is one of those safari moments you could watch forever.

Sometimes, when you have lived and worked in the wild, you’re given the rare opportunity to make a little difference in the life of a wild animal.

This beautiful genet kitten was orphaned and needed a safe place to grow before he could return to the wild.

It took time, patience and plenty of feeding and play sessions to gain his trust. But the moment he finally let me in was pure magic.

Watching his personality emerge, seeing him become stronger and eventually his safe release back into the wild was incredibly special.

One of those unforgettable wildlife experiences that stays with you forever.

Sometimes safari brings the most unexpected encounters.

This beautiful Marico Sunbird unfortunately flew into a window and was left a little shaken. James and I were able to gently pick him up, give him some sugar water by hand, and give him a little time to recover.

The sweetest part? He trusted us to hold him while he gathered his strength. 🥹

After a little rest, he flew safely away — a tiny safari rescue we certainly won’t forget. What an absolutely special experience.

Okay, be honest… can you spot the leopard in the first photo?

This is exactly what leopard spotting in the wild can be like. At first glance it looked like a jumble of branches, brush, shadows and leaves… but hidden right in the middle was a leopard!

And this is where my husband’s incredible leopard-spotting abilities come in. Somehow, he can look at what appears to be absolutely nothing and say…
“There’s a leopard.” 😂

And sure enough… there is!

A few moments later, I had these close-up shots of this beautiful leopard lazily relaxing on the log.

Leopards are masters of camouflage, and spotting one in the wild is such a special feeling.

Just another day in the African bush…

From tiny Kirk’s dik-dik to towering reticulated giraffes, playful cheetah cubs, a lioness and her precious cub, and an elephant surrounded by a flurry of vervet monkeys — every safari drive brings something completely unexpected.

✨ A kaleidoscope of colour from a male agama
🦅 A tawny eagle enjoying a hard-earned meal
🦒 Giraffes carefully lowering themselves to drink
🐆 A cheetah mum enjoying precious playtime with her growing cubs
🦁 A lioness keeping a watchful eye over her little one
🐘 An elephant on the move with mischievous vervet monkeys racing alongside
🐇 And even the beautifully camouflaged African savanna hare

This is the magic of safari. You never quite know what the next bend will bring.
