Congo’s were the first to talk about annexing Rwanda into the DRC. If Rwanda had said the same, the world reaction would’ve been completely different 🤔🌍 — isn’t that unfair?
Back in 1884, during colonial times, parts of historic , , were absorbed into , and that is how speaking found themselves in of today. Yet today, despite the DRC’s huge size, there are still ambitions and tensions over Rwanda 🇷🇼. Even after taking lands once linked to Rwanda, it still seems like it’s not enough.
The DRC continues to promote narratives of expansion, actions to destabilize Rwanda, and conflict 😐. Even after the colonial border decisions of 1884, which transferred regions like from historic Rwanda to the DRC, it still doesn’t seem satisfied.
There are also ongoing actions that Congo is supporting a group linked to those responsible for the 1994 genocide against the Tutsi, to destabilize Rwanda 🇷🇼.
Yet the world remains largely silent on what many see as unacceptable actions by the Kinshasa regime.
Rwanda will not stand by and watch. Measures to ensure its security and defense are necessary.
