Stepping into our Swahili house on Lamu Island feels like stepping back in time ✨

Our first house is fully booked (thank you 🤍) and we only have a few spaces left at our home-base, our most loved destination.

From 28th February to 5th April, wake up to quiet mornings, wander maze-like streets where donkeys set the pace, feel the rhythm of a close-knit community, and let the island slow you all the way down 🌊🐚

No cars. No rush. Just history, culture, and a kind of peace you don’t find everywhere.

Where it all began 🌊✨ From Nairobi sailing down to Lamu Tamu (sweet Lamu) ⛵️

Lamu Island is more than a destination for us, it’s the starting point of the AfricaNomads HUB story.

A place where time slows down, traditions lead the way, and life moves to the rhythm of the ocean and the call to prayer.

Get immersed in one of the best-preserved Swahili settlements in the world. Wander through narrow alleys shaped by centuries of history. No cars. No rush. Just dhows on the water, donkeys on the streets, and stories carved into coral stone walls.

From February 28th to April 5th, we return to Lamu to experience something truly special: the beginning of Ramadan. A moment when the island transforms: quieter days, soulful evenings, shared iftars, and a deeper connection to culture, faith, and community.

This is where our journey started. And where everything still feels real.
