NAIROBI NATIONAL PARK AND BOMAS OF KENYA
Nairobi National Park is one of Africa’s smallest parks and the only one found within a city. It has abundant wildlife that can be viewed against a backdrop of city skyscrapers and planes coming in to land. It hosts a wide variety of wildlife including the endangered black rhino, lions, leopards, cheetahs, hyenas, buffaloes, giraffes and diverse birdlife with over 400 species recorded. Visitors can enjoy the park’s picnic sites, three campsites and the walking trails for hikers.
Experience the rich diversity of Kenyan traditional music and dance at the Bomas of Kenya. They have daily cultural performances consisting of over 50 dances from different ethnic communities. With live percussion, string and wind instruments, and diverse, authentic and energetic dancing, Bomas Harambee Dancers will take you on a journey through Kenya’s past and present. Bomas of Kenya also collects and preserves cultural artefacts from various communities such as stools, food and beverage containers, traditional circumcision knives, ritual masks, etc. There are also homesteads of various communities.
