"THE WHALE FALL"
What happens when the biggest creature on earth, the Blue Whale, dies? It's said that a Blue Whale can sense its own impending death. That's why it swims hundreds of kilometers away from home and with the last strength it has left makes one final dive straight into the deepest parts of the sea. This event is called "WHALE FALL".
At first, sharks and eels feast on the whale's body for days. Only when a little flesh remains, tiny worms take over, devouring everything that the predators left behind. Then comes the zombie worms. They release acid into the whale's bones, breaking them down and releasing the fats and proteins stored inside.
Symbiotic bacteria feed on these nutrients and together they support new plant life growing around the skeleton. This process continues for nearly hundred years. One whale's body can sustain over 43 species and more than 12,490 organisms. That's why it's said "when a whale dies, it gives life to hundreds of creatures. This shows the incredible Wisdom of God's design, nothing is wasted, everything in creation has a purpose, every detail is part of His perfect plan.
