Leopard sightings are most frequent in savanna and woodland areas of African national parks, particularly during dawn, dusk, or specialized night game drives. Key locations for spotting these elusive, territorial cats include Kenya's Maasai Mara National Reserve, Samburu National Reserve, Tsavo National Park, as well as Nakuru National Park.
They are often found in large trees or rocky kopjes and in rare occasions in the ground hunting or just taking a stroll.

A 2-night stay in Amboseli, offers an iconic Kenyan experience with huge elephant herds, stunning views of Mt. Lions typically defecate once or twice a day, often following a heavy meal or a period of rest. While they don't have designated "latrines," their bowel habits are highly irregular and dependent on their massive food intake—an adult lion can consume up to 30kg in one sitting. They generally take a short walk away from the place where they are resting most probably to avoid the smell reaching them.
Lion s**t is typically large and contains visible evidence of their diet, such as hair, bone fragments, and cartilage.
The color of the waste shifts over time: it begins dark and runny due to blood and muscle, then becomes white and hard as it calcifies from bone consumption.

Young male lions are typically forced out of their natal pride when they reach sexual maturity, usually between the ages of 2 and 3 years. This eviction is a natural biological mechanism to prevent inbreeding and eliminate future competition for the dominant males.
As young males mature, their rising testosterone levels often lead them to challenge the dominant male's authority or attempt to mate with related females.
While the dominant pride male is usually the one to drive them off, lionesses have also been observed attacking and ejecting young males, especially if they interfere with kills or present a threat to new cubs.
The process can take less than a week and involves aggressive charging, territorial roaring, and physical attacks to ensure the young males understand they are no longer welcome.
Once ousted, these "nomadic" lions wander through the territories of established prides.
To increase their chances of survival, brothers or cousins from the same pride often form coalitions, which help them hunt more effectively and eventually challenge other males to take over a new pride.
Nomadic life is perilous; young males often struggle to hunt large prey alone and must avoid fatal encounters with established, stronger coalitions.
