Amazing!

The understated, hardworking dung beetle is perhaps one of the most extraordinary animals to walk this earth, and you’ll never guess why…

In 2003 research uncovered that dung beetles may possess a talent previously unknown in the animal kingdom: the ability to navigate by moonlight… thus making it the first animal known to use polarized moonlight for orientation.

Ten years later 2013, the dung beetle went on to amaze the world once more; it was shown that they can navigate when only the Milky Way or bright clusters are stars are visible in the night sky… making the dung beetle the only insects known to orient themselves by the galaxy.

This just goes to show that even the most unassuming of animals can hold a fascinating secret and are not to be overlooked!
