Ever asked yourself why goat and sheep droppings look like small pellets? Bere is the reason;
Like all other ruminants, shoats have a unique digestive system perfectly adapted to their herbivorous grazing and browsing and the need to conserve water.
Their colon and re**um play a crucial role in forming the distinctive pellet-shaped droppings. In digestion process, majorly water absorption occurs at the colon resulting in dry and compact f***s—an adaptation that helps minimize water loss through excrete waste.
The small pellet shape is also due to the way the re**um and clolon contracts rhythmically, dividing the waste into uniform pieces. This structure allows f***s to pass through the digestive tract with minimal resistance, resulting to shoats to defecate while moving or grazing. This efficiency is especially advantageous in the wild, where goats need to be constantly on the move in search of food and water, and avoiding attack from predators.
