The event focused on promoting breastfeeding, maternal and child nutrition, and healthier outcomes for mothers and children.

Organizers emphasized the importance of exclusive breastfeeding during the first six months of a child’s life, followed by continued breastfeeding alongside appropriate complementary foods.

The campaign also called on families and communities to support breastfeeding mothers and create an environment that encourages healthy infant feeding practices.

BREAKING: Comedian Mariak Two Reasons Warns of Renewed Threats to his life After Cueibet-Twic Incident.

South Sudanese comedian Mariak Two Reasons says he is facing renewed threats to his life following the recent violence surrounding the Bahr el Ghazal Counties Tournament (BCT).

In a video posted last evening, Mariak said he had previously received threats from supporters of Ciec Manyiel and Yirol West following an incident last year in which he bumped into a steward, fainted, and became involved in a controversy that led to the disqualification of a match.

Mariak said the threats have now resurfaced following the recent Cueibet–Twic Mayardit match, which ended in violence after Twic equalized in the 90+7th minute to make the score 1–1.

He shared a video showing one of the alleged threats, in which an individual accused Mariak of being used by what he described as corrupt tournament organizers to keep ferrying Twic, before warning that they would deal with him.

The latest incident reportedly saw Cueibet supporters attack Twic Mayardit players and fans, leaving two players and two supporters hospitalized.

The BCT subsequently disqualified Cueibet from the tournament and fined the team SSP 5 million.

Mariak said the latest threats are linked to the aftermath of the Cueibet incident, rather than the Ciec Manyiel controversy from last year.

The allegations contained in the threat video have not been independently verified.

JUST IN: Cueibet County Disqualified From BCT Over Violence Against Twic Players

Cueibet County has been disqualified from the second edition of the Bahr El Ghazal Counties’ Tournament (BCT) following violence involving its supporters after the match against Twic County at Munuki Playground on August 16, 2026.

The BCT Standing Committee on Technical Affairs announced the decision in a letter dated August 17, saying it found Cueibet supporters responsible for causing violence, disorder and chaos after the final whistle.

According to the committee, some Cueibet supporters injured two Twic County players and assaulted several Twic supporters. The committee also said some Twic supporters were allegedly stabbed with a knife during the incident.

The committee further cited damage to chairs at the stadium and described the use of a knife as a violation of the tournament’s rules on dangerous weapons and fair play.

Penalties

The committee imposed several sanctions on Cueibet County:

- Disqualification: Cueibet County has been removed from the 2026 BCT with immediate effect.
- 5 million SSP fine: The team was fined 5,000,000 South Sudanese pounds under the tournament regulations.
- Captain Marop banned: Captain Marop has been banned from attending all remaining matches of the 2026 BCT.
- Additional 3 million SSP fine: Cueibet County was also ordered to pay another 3,000,000 SSP under Rule 10(a) of the tournament regulations.

The committee said the sanctions were imposed after “critical reflection” on the importance of the tournament and the need to uphold discipline and fair play.

Cueibet County will only be eligible for re-admission to the third edition of the BCT in 2027 after fulfilling the obligations and penalties imposed by the committee.

The decision was signed by Dhuor Anhiem Jok, Chairman of the BCT Standing Committee on Technical Affairs.
