‎On behalf of H.E. Hon. Rev. Mutuma M’Ethingia, the Department of Trade, Tourism, and Cooperatives, in partnership with the Meru County Investment and Development Corporation (MCIDC), proudly hosted a high-level seminar Alba Hotel Meru , aimed at exploring and unlocking the economic potential of Meru County.

‎The seminar's primary objective was to conduct an in-depth assessment of Meru County’s economic strengths and untapped opportunities. This assessment is intended to lay the groundwork for attracting transformative investments while enhancing access to both national and international markets.

‎A major outcome of this engagement was the development of a comprehensive and forward looking action plan.

This plan includes clear and measurable objectives, realistic timelines for implementation, and structured accountability frameworks to support and monitor investment activities. It is expected to guide Meru County’s efforts in promoting investment and driving economic transformation, while also helping to identify and engage appropriate investors and development partners.

‎Looking ahead, the focus is now on collective commitment, timely follow-through, and diligent monitoring. With unity of purpose and strategic coordination, Meru County is well positioned to emerge as a vibrant hub of sustainable investment, economic growth, and inclusive prosperity.

‎This strategic engagement was made possible through collaboration with InCA Africa Ltd represented by its Managing Director Richard Vaughan, the Director of Human Resources Jerusha Arothe-Vaughan, and Global Development Incubator Africa (GDI) Director Kinyua M'Mbijewe.

‎The seminar also had the privilege of hosting a distinguished delegation from Strathmore University Business School and the Strathmore Agri-Food Innovation Centre (SAFIC) led by Dr. Dennis Mujibi. In attendance were key representatives from various county directorates, including Agriculture, Trade, Lands, Transport, Energy, and Tourism, along with officials from the Meru County Investment and Development Corporation (MCIDC).

Did you know Eid ul-Adha ('Festival of Sacrifice') is one of the most important festivals in the Muslim calendar.

The festival remembers the prophet Ibrahim's willingness to sacrifice his son when God ordered him to.

Eid Mubarak to you and your loved ones! May your life be as bright and beautiful as the lights of Eid, and your heart as pure as your prayers.
