The VI World Nomad Games have been officially confirmed for September 2026, and they will return to where it all began: Kyrgyzstan.

The heart of the action will unfold on the shores of Lake Issyk-Kul and at the brand-new Bishkek Arena, a state-of-the-art stadium with capacity for 51,000 spectators. This promises to be the biggest and most ambitious edition yet — a powerful celebration of nomadic heritage on a global scale.

As always, the Games will feature traditional equestrian events such as kok boru, archery, horseback wrestling, falconry and ordo, as well as many other sports that have been passed down through generations of nomadic peoples.

However, the World Nomad Games are about far more than competition. You will have the opportunity to step into a fully recreated ethno-village, connect with local communities, discover traditional crafts, sample authentic Kyrgyz cuisine and experience folk music, dance and fashion festivals from across Eurasia. Conferences and exhibitions will explore the history, meaning and evolution of nomadic culture, all of which is recognised by UNESCO as part of the world’s intangible cultural heritage.
