Banteay Chhmar is a hidden gem of a temple tucked away in northwestern Cambodia, near the Thai border. It was built in the late 1100s by King Jayavarman VII, the same king behind Angkor Thom, to honor his son and loyal generals.

Bakong is a Hindu temple located in the Roluos group of temples near Siem Reap, Cambodia. It was built in the late 9th century (circa 881 AD) by King Indravarman I and is considered the first temple mountain of sandstone constructed by the Khmer Empire.

Key features of Bakong:
