[VAID’s Marketing Activities]
For attracting more Mongolian patients, VAID will officially operate Ulan Bator Branch in Mongolia from this February, 2015. Accordingly, we invited a branch manager of Mongolia and education had been offered for 5 days from the 26th to 30th of January. During the period, VAID visited 20 hospitals and clinics in Seoul with the manager while offering field work experiences and we also shared our Mongolia marketing strategies.
For expansion of the Middle Asia market, VAID have made a proposal to our partner from Uzbekistan for cooperation in medical tourism and he finally visited to Seoul. From the 26th to 28th of Jan, we visited the best hospitals and clinics in Seoul and made him experience developed Korean medical facilities, technologies, and status of foreign patients.
We look forward to seeing an increase in the number of Mongolian patients and hope to attract new Uzbek patients. Our effort to promote the excellence of Korean health care to foreign countries will never cease.

[Economical and Efficient Medical Tourism]
Mr. Feng from China who had badly distorted his right face by industrial accident, has received surgeries several times in China, but the results were not satisfying at all. VAID has introduced Y Hospital in Seoul which had suggested specific surgical procedures. Mr. Feng has decided to get surgery in Y hospital of Korea. During the discussion to schedule the surgery date in Y Hospital, he has faced the situation to wait around a week until the surgery date because of doctor’s schedule. To minimized his stay period in Korea, VAID has adjusted with hospital officials and hasten the surgery schedule. On the hospitalization day, Mr. Feng has allocated to expensive double-bed room because there was no vacancy in 5-6 bed rooms and he has felt great burden on it. VAID has kindly explained the patient’s real matter to hospital officials and confirmed the situation in real time. Just 30 minutes before the hospitalization, Mr. Feng has been assigned to the five-bed room dramatically. He looked nervous on the day of surgery so VAID employee has shared a lot of talk beside him to make him relaxed and think positively. Right after the long surgery for 8 hours, the VAID employee has checked the condition of the patient and confirmed that the surgery was successfully finished. There was amazing improvement on the patient's face. Mr. Feng has expressed great appreciation to VAID for helping him to reduce the hospitalizing and living costs in Korea.

[VAID’s contribution on Mongolia Sports Industry]
On last 28th October 2014, VAID representative, the doctors from Wooridul Spine Hospital have been visited Sports Training Center and National Olympic Committee under Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism in Mongolia on the purpose of promoting cooperation in health and medical care between Korea and Mongolia. During this visit, VAID had discussed with Sports Training Center and National Olympic Committee of Mongolia about offering free telemedicine, training of doctors and staffs, and discounted treatment for the athletes. Ch. Nasanbat, who is Head of Sports Medicine Department said and highlighted that “This mutual cooperation between Korea and Mongolia might bring the chance to change the history of our Sports Medicine Division”. Also Otgonbayar, Vice director of Sports Training Center and Damdin who is Deputy Chairman of NOC have discussed the general conditions to bring this agreement to the next stages and agreed to sign on the cooperation agreement in the near future. VAID is doing our best on contributing to improve athlete’s successes of Mongolia providing them with qualified medical treatments, physical therapies and re-trained doctors.

[VAID's Medical Volunteer Event in Mongolia]
In order to make contribution on Mongolian sport industry and sports medicine, on 29th of October 2014, VAID successfully hosted Medical Volunteer Event during the Mongolian Volleyball Championship in collaboration with Wooridul Spine Hospital. Through this event, the retired athletes and members of the national team who brought the injury related materials, X-rays have been grasped the opportunity to get diagnostics and therapeutic strategies from the medical specialists from Korea. Athlete’s injuries are closely related to their successes and the most important thing is to make right treatment at the right time. There were a number of athletes who suffered with injuries that cannot be treated in Mongolia, have admired with Korean medical technique and showed their desire to get treatment in South Korea. VAID was very proud to stand forward for our athlete’s health that higher the dignity of Mongolia in the domestic and international competitions.

[국내 병원 해외진출 잇달아 성공]
최근 국내병원들의 해외 수출사업이 잇달아 성공하고 있어 향후 한국 병원의 해외진출이 탄력을 받을 전망입니다. 한국병원들은 최근 3년동안 병원 위탁운영, 병원IT, 의료인 진출 등 다양한 방법으로 한국의료의 해외진출을 위해 노력해왔는데요.
지난 7월 서울대병원이 UAE 왕립 셰이크 칼리파 전문병원의 위탁 운영자로 선정된 데 이어, 9월에는 서울성모병원의 검진센터(아부다비•두바이 2개소) 설립계약과 암센터 설립을 위한 MOU 체결이 이루어졌습니다. 이러한 국내 민간병원들의 아랍에미리트(UAE) 진출에 따라 아부다비보건청에서는 한국 의료인 면허인정을 공식 추진키로 해 향후 한국 병원 진출이 탄력을 받게 됐습니다.
이밖에 고려대의료원은 몽골 인터메드 국제병원(Intermed Hospital)의 설립을 위해 지난 2012년 MOU를 체결한 후 진료프로세스와 시스템 구축을 지원하고 의료전문가 교육과 운영 노하우까지 전수하는 등 경영컨설팅을 지속해왔다고 합니다. 몽골 인터메드 국제병원 은 몽골에서 첨단시설 갖춘 첫 민간병원으로서 지난 9월 열린 개원식을 통해 성공적인 개원을 알렸습니다.
세계 최고 수준인 한국의료의 가치를 세계에 공유함으로써 현지 의료수준을 높이는 동시에, 추후 한국 의료시스템의 우수성이 보다 널리 알려져 한국의료의 해외진출 가속화와 한국 의료관광의 발전으로 이어지길 바랍니다.

40억 아시아인의 스포츠 축제 '2014 인천아시안게임'이 다음달인 9월 19일부터 10월 4일까지 16일간 개최됩니다. 인천시는 45개국 선수·임원·취재진 2만3000여명과 외국인 관람객 20만명을 포함한 관광객 200만명의 소비활동에 따라 지역의 숙박업·요식업·운수보관업 등이 호황을 누릴 것으로 예상하고 있다고 하네요. 또한 인천시와 인천도시공사는 아시안게임의 성공적 개최를 기원하고 '세계는 하나'라는 취지로 음악과 문화, 관광이 어우러지는 풍성한 축제들을 열어 아시아인들의 눈과 귀를 사로잡을 예정이랍니다. 베이드코리아는 2014 인천아시안게임의 성공적인 개최와 함께, 이 기간동안 방한하는 외국인 관광객들이 한국 의료를 체험하여 한국의료의 우수성을 세계에 알릴 수 있기를 희망합니다.

2013년 중국에서 의료관광을 목적으로 타국에 방문한 의료관광객의 수는 9천700만명이라고 합니다. 중국인이 의료관광으로 선호하는 국가는 홍콩, 한국, 일본, 캐나다, 미국, 영국, 스위스 등이 라고 하는데요. 상류층들은 건강검진을 받기 위해 일본으로, 암치료 목적으로 미국, 간이식은 영국으로, 유전자 검사는 캐나다로 가는 경향이 있고, 한국으로는 거의 성형이나 피부 시술 등 미용 목적으로 방문을 하는 경우가 대부분입니다.
미용분야 외에도 한국은 암치료, 간이식, 척추관절, 치과 등 다양한 의료 분야에서 뛰어난 의료진과 의료기술, 의료장비를 보유하고 있지만, 이 사실을 중국인들은 아직 인식하지 못하고 있습니다. 베이드코리아를 이용하는 중국 고객들 역시 거의 대부분 성형이나 피부 시술을 받고 있는 것이 사실입니다.

히딩크 대한민국 축구 국가대표감독은 올초 무릎 관절염 치료를 위해 휠체어를 타고 방한했는데요. 오른쪽 무릎 연골이 거의 없어 걷지도 못하고 연일 통증에 시달렸던 그는, 지난 1월 서울 J병원에서 줄기세포를 이용한 무릎 관절염 시술을 받은 후 상당부분의 연골이 재생되어 일상생활은 물론 조깅 및 골프를 할 수 있을 정도로 상태가 호전되었다고 합니다. 그로부터 6개월이 흐른 최근, 그는 건강한 모습으로 '걸어서' 다시 한국을 입국했다고 하네요. 문형표 복지부 장관은 25일 히딩크 전 감독을 만나 치료 경과를 살펴보고, 완치를 기원했으며, 이 자리에서 히딩크 감독은 "치료 경과가 매우 좋아 앞으로 한국의료의 우수성을 널리 알리겠다"고 약속했다고 해요. 한국의료 정말 원더풀 하죠?!

미국에 유학중인 중국 대학생 Lu양은 2~3개월에 한번씩 고향인 중국을 방문하는데, 중국과 미국 간 이동 시 늘 한국을 경유합니다. 그녀가 한국을 이토록 자주 방문하는 이유는 바로 한국에서 베이드코리아의 미용 서비스를 이용하기 위해서인데요.
