So a lot of places claim to have the best beef soup in town, right?

Well, legend has it that before the controlling Japanese departed Korea, they burned down everything in the area except this restaurant because the beef soup was so damn good.

Consequently, the restaurant has stayed open for 77 years from generation to generation, and is still serving the same beef soup.

They now have three locations in Seoul – Myeongdong (tourist destination), Yeouido (financial district), and COEX (shopping district) – but only serve until the broth is gone everyday.

A popular local lunch destination, the soup doesn’t last past 4pm so line up early and get your storied slurp on.

It doesn't get any simpler than this cozy, traditional Korean eatery which is THE place for GALBI JJIM (braised beef ribs) in Seoul.

Located about a 10 -15 minute walk from the popular Garosugil shopping area, the restaurant is situated in a quieter, more residential area, making it harder to find. But trust us, it's worth the extra effort.

We know it's a bit of a rib cliché (probably the only cliché when it comes to ribs), but the meat is so tender…wait for it – that it just falls off the bone. Slowly braised in soy sauce and sugar, the meat hits you right in the flavor zone, haunting your dreams forever..or maybe they'll just become a cherished memory.

Whatevs! They're delish. Balance your meat-y order with the NAENGMYEON (cold noodles) is also a refreshing standout but people definitely come here for the ribs first and foremost.

Keep it simple, you know what to order. If you're anything like us, you'll fall for this place too.

If you are into the craft of coffee, then Bangkok's Roots is a worthy destination for you.

Roots sources some of the finest local and international coffee beans and roasts them in house. The Roots team brings their passion to what they do and it comes through in the taste.

The cool design aesthetic is urban / rustic - concrete, wood and glass. Take a seat at the bar for an espresso and a freshly made pastry. Coffee offerings change every couple months with the seasons.

If your timing is right, we recommend the fruit-forward Ethiopia Sidam Schilicho French press.

Racks MDB is a NYC-style billiards bar in Lan Kwai Fong, Hong Kong's clubbing and entertainment district.

Stroll right in (no velvet rope) just like the old days as if you were showing up to a friend’s house with a six-pack of “Natty Light” in hand.

Featuring a heavy rotation of 90’s Hip Hop Jamz, Racks will definitely bring you back to the days when Kriss Kross would make you “Jump, Jump.”

Besides the traditional pub games of billiards and darts, Racks is known for beer pong, flip cup and other drinking games.

On weeknights, many regulars come by for a casual game of pool or darts, but on weekends you can expect a full house, fun music, and lots of high fives.

Pool sharks are rare visitors but in the midst of a drunken crowd (i.e. blood is in the water) they may emerge. You’ve been warned.

Tucked away from the madding crowds of HK in the hills of Sheung Wan district, Lof10 is not the easiest to find.

But thanks to its open-air design and the fact that it serves BLUE BOTTLE COFFEE, Lof10 manages to fill its seats with locals and visitors alike.

Lof10's co-owners spent some of their formative years in California and when they returned home, they were determined to recreate the unhurried, chilled out ambience of the west coast coffee shops.

And judging from its popularity in spite of its location off the beaten path, it's safe to say that they've succeeded in capturing the best of Cali café culture.

But really, you had us at Blue Bottle coffee.

Café style farm to table in an urban jungle is no easy feat, and Locofama delivers the goods.

Blending American and Asian cuisine into unique and savory dishes, this communal café setting offers shareable seasonable plates, fresh juices and high quality coffees.

Sourced from tried and true local farmers, the all-organic ingredients are uncompromising and deliver high-quality flavors and nutrients.

If the 48 hour short ribs, coconut chicken casserole and super healthy hydrator juices aren't enough to convince you, enjoying the company of rescue dogs while you eat these must try specialties better seal the deal.

The restaurant fills up at peak hours with a mix of international models, hip locals and in the know expats so reservations are highly recommended.

Fittingly situated in an old train market, this open-air bazaar presents an incredible consortium of vendors selling vintage goods.

From iconic Americana collectibles to Japanese World War II motorbikes to antique furniture to Mao Kitsch, the memorabilia of yesteryear can be found here.

The open air market is fun to explore day or night (though night offers a slight respite from the summer day's heat) and also includes a variety of street food stalls and drink vendors to keep your energy high.

A charming location with a welcoming atmosphere provides a unique opportunity for spirited perusing and discovery that will be hard to walk away form empty-handed.

Obsessing over where to find the perfect sweatshirt?

Look no further than Japan's Loopwheeler. Named after the slow-weaving machines that knit their high-quality wares (a machine only found in Japan), Loopwheeler strives to produce the most comfortable sweatshirt in the universe.

Located in a quiet section of Sendagaya (near Shibuya), the brand's flagship store has a simple modern vibe.

The focus is on the product as patrons will see an actual loopwheel machine at work in the corner of the store. The crewneck “LW01” is their signature item, but the zip-up hoodie also known as “LW09” is also popular.

To hood, or not to hood? That is the question.

The way of the Samurai is one steeped in ritual and strict codes of conduct that seeks to avoid conflict rather than seek it.

But make no mistake, those crazy enough to mess with a samurai often met with the sharp end of the samurai's Katana, often considered part of his soul.

When visitors to Japan think of the Katana and the rituals that surround it, it's natural that they should want to take part in the sacred Katana exercise. But you may be surprised to find yourself in a class surrounded by ladies that feels more Jane Fonda workout than Kurosawa.

It turns out that learning how to wield a Katana is actually good for burning some calories along with teaching mindfulness and focus. And there's an art to the movements that is akin to dance which has helped to make samurai training so popular with the women of Tokyo.

But make no mistake - the skills learned here are real and training is run by master swordsmen and women who have trained in Kenjutsu (the art of sword fighting) for most of their lives.

By the end of it, you may not come out a feared Samurai, but you'll begin your journey in the ways of the Bushido and burn some calories to boot.

It's hard to know what came first at Ukyo - the sake or the truffle.

Although most refer to Ukyo as a sake bar or izakaya, lately it has become known as the sweet spot for the truffle hunters of Tokyo. In contrast to Tokyo's typical izakaya scene with its cheap beer, skewers of inexpensive meats and traditional small plates, Ukyo is an experience that is all about modern decadence.

Boasting a selection of over 200 sakes, the highly customized experience begins with choosing your own, personal sake glass. Skimming through the menu you will notice that Ukyo has every indulgent item imaginable - caviar, uni, foie gras, stinky european cheeses.

But it's the truffle that gets all the glory. Ukyo imports massive quantities of truffle from Italy every year (we're talking human body size) in order to shave generous (some say, gluttonous) amounts of the black gold onto, well, everything.

Ukyo's bartenders will help you select find the perfect pairing. Top-shelf sake s***s will lust over names like Raifaku, the highest polished sake in Japan, or Jokigen, sake stored in white wine barrels from Napa.

As you've probably guessed, this is a hot spot even 5 years after opening (no easy feat in a gastronomically fickle city such as Tokyo) so reservations are a must, even for the bar. The space is expectedly tight with more than half of its 30 seats dedicated to the bar. But if you planned poorly, it is possible to score a walk-in seat if you get very, very lucky.

Whether you're here for the sake or the truffles, it's really a win-win situation.

The Xintiandi tagline is a little confusing, “where yesterday and tomorrow meet in Shanghai today,” but don't let that turn you off.

The shopping hub located in Shanghai's French Quarter is a serious melting pot of styles and time periods and is home to everything from movie theaters, to restaurants, to galleries, and boutiques.

The real cool factor here is the blending of old and new; you know, “where yesterday and tomorrow meet in Shanghai today.” Hyper-modern glass buildings sit next door to Shanghai's traditional Shikumen residences — all blending into the perfect place to stroll while you snap pics and nosh on local snacks.

The serious must visits? You absolutely can't miss the South Block of Xintiandi where the modern goes into overdrive thanks to an incredible 25,000 square meter mall.

Another one for the Xintiandi bucket list is the North Block where the more traditional buildings are located. If time allows hit up the artists and designers in the Tianzifang area of southwest Xintiandi.

Xintiandi is like a Chinese time capsule. Peel back each layer and you'll learn more and more about the area's history and the culture. What better way to do that than while dropping serious Yuan on some local goods.
