We start our trip in Nong Khiaw with a peaceful longtail-boat ride along the stunning Nam Ou River, surrounded by scenery limestone mountains, forests and small riverside communities. As we travel deeper into the countryside, you will you will see how the river remains an integral part of the local people's daily lives.
Visit a traditional Kmu ethnic village, where you will learn about the traditional way of life of one of Northern Laos's key ethnic groups. Rather than simply taking photos, you will gain a deeper understanding and firsthand experience of their culture, agricultural practices, homes, family life, and customs passed down through generations.
Kmu villages around Nong Khiaw are particularly connected with the river and surrounding agricultural landscape.
Afterward, we will disembark and begin a local countryside trek along rice fields, forest trails, and traditional farming areas. Along the way, we will see buffalo, various crops, and the simple lifestyle of the rural life.
This is more than just a sightseeing tour. It's an opportunity to slow down, meet local people, explore the countryside, and experience the traditional way of life in Northern Laos—all accompanied by a local guide with deep knowledge of the area and its people.
