"Sustainable tourism" shouldn't mean replacing licensed professionals with unregulated labor. 🇱🇧

Across Lebanon, NGOs, associations and tour operators are running commercial tours under the banner of "eco-tourism, responsible and community-based travel". But behind the marketing, many are bypassing national licensed tourist guides in favor of unlicensed hosts and informal operations.

The line between authentic community inclusion and unregulated labor has gotten dangerously blurred.

True sustainable tourism must be built on legal integrity, fair labor practices and respect for official qualifications. You cannot claim to support local communities while stripping certified local professionals of their livelihoods.

This being said, next time you book a tour in Lebanon, ask: Is your guide legally licensed?

Because true responsible travel requires fair labor practices. Protect certified professionals!

Who would have thought that February’s final tour would also mark the end of the season…

What started as a simple 3-day culinary escape, a quick weekend filled with flavors, laughter and discovery, unfolded alongside the beginning of yet another conflict in the Middle East and GCC region.

Yet, we hold on to hope... hope that peace will prevail, that life will find its rhythm again and that these shared moments will continue to bring people together.

Here’s a recap of a journey full of Lebanese vibes, stories, flavors and smiles:

Day 1
Straight from the airport to the kitchen diving into a Lebanese cooking workshop at .lb, after enjoying the meal we created, we explored Downtown Beirut where ancient ruins and modern architecture meet.

Day 2
A beautiful start with breakfast at , followed by a scenic escape to learning about organic zaatar, playing with goats and soaking in nature.
From there, we made our way through Byblos and into Batroun, ending at Sept Winery. An unforgettable lunch with Maher: an 8-course meal with wine pairing, stories by the fire and the perfect closing arak.

Day 3
Breakfast at Al Sharif (just a teaser in the photos 😉), then a stroll through Hamra Street, uncovering the contemporary layers of Beirut’s story. A cozy stop at Barzakh Café, followed by a final feast at Ichkhanian Bakery lahmajun, manti and burek at their finest! The day ended with a stroll along Beirut’s waterfront, with views of both mountains and sea.

Because even when everything feels uncertain, these moments remind us why we keep going... food, stories, people… and the belief that better days are always ahead!

Here’s an impression of last week’s 4-day tour! The best of Lebanon shared with amazing people… culture, connections and moments that will stay with us forever 🇱🇧✨

Day 1 –> We dove into the heart of Druze culture in Mount Lebanon, visiting the beautiful Mokhtara Palace, home of the prominent Jumblatt family. A short walk in Maaser El Shouf Forest, a home-cooked meal and a stroll through Deir el Qamar wrapped up the mountains before heading back to Beirut for a guided tour of the central district and a visit to Beit Beirut and the Hkeeli exhibition.

Day 2 –> We felt the true vibes of Tripoli’s old souk, enjoyed street food and stopped at Hallab 1881 for Qasr el Helou. Then on to the abandoned Rachid Karami International Fair by Oscar Niemeyer, finishing the day with a sunset walk in Batroun.

Day 3 –> The magic of Jeita Grotto, the views from Our Lady of Lebanon and a ride on the Téléférique Jounieh, before exploring Byblos, one of the oldest continuously inhabited cities in the world.

Day 4 –> We concluded with a true Bekaa experience: the impressive ruins of Anjar, the majestic temples of Baalbek, Baalbaki dabke, one of the most important abandoned train stations from Lebanon’s golden era and a final toast of wine and arak at Château Rayak.
